THE CENTRE HELPS TO DEVELOP
FISHERS OF MEN
Eleven permanent deacon candidates
recently finished the third year in their
formation. When asked for their evalua-
tion of the programme and the Centre thus far,
they were quite complimentary. One said that
the venue was excellent and very conducive to
learning. Others commented on the helpfulness
of the Centre’s staff and the teachers in the
programme.
Overall, there were comments such as:
“The Diaconate Programme has been a great success beyond my wildest
dreams.”
Another: “What the Diaconate Programme has done for me is something I
never knew I would get in my life…” Thanks to the men and their families
for all the cooperation and support!

2. What’s Happening
SCHOOL OF LITURGY
Four evenings of School of Liturgy will take place from 4th
to 7th
August at the
Vieux Fort Primary School. The same programme of presentations will take place
from 11th
to 14th
August at the Pastoral Centre.
Theme: “Eucharist: Celebrating Christ’s Presence in Our Midst.”
All liturgical ministers are encouraged to attend, but especially ushers and choir
members this year as the topics of hospitality and music for Mass will be
addressed. Registration cost is $25.
ST. AUGUSTINE LECTURE
Title: "St. Augustine's Way of Evangelization"
Speaker: Fr. Andrew Rosiak, SAC (Parish Priest of Laborie)
Date and Time: Wednesday, August 27 at 6:30pm
Venue: St. Lucy Church, Micoud
All are encouraged to attend.
GOOD NEWS GROUP
Members of the Good News group with the Hospitality of the Centre are working
to bring service to various communities.

3. Pastoral Centre welcomed the Under 23 OECS Netball Association and
provided accommodation and meals for the teams from June 27– July 2,
2014.

COURSES TO BEGIN IN SEPTEMBER
Courses in Liturgy and in Ecclesiology (Study of Church) will begin in
September. These will be held on two Saturdays each month for three
months. Cost of registration is $150 per course. Register at the Pastoral
Centre.
