RATIONALE:
The present the DUTERTE Administration is very serious and determine to help improve socio-
economics living condition of its people especially those unemployed living under poverty when Pres.
Duterte questioned the (5-6) business no matter percentage they transact business everywhere as usual.
In the province of Benguet, while it is popularly known as the vegetable basket of the country, the poor
farmers under their age at late 50s known as (ELDERS) who have been tired through the years since the
childhood manually farming would like to turn over to the younger and strong generation. The vegetable
production, while the elders will shift to backyard swine production under financial assisted contract of
the government D.A under the Department of livestock Department head Dr. Anthony Bantog .
After a consultative meeting held at Pico Km5 La Trinidad Benguet last August 4, 2018 at the
residence of our chairman the association came up to a recommendation of our chairman Mr. Gabriel S.
Pescao which was agreed and anonymously carried by the BEAGGI, the backyard swine production as an
alternative Livelihood of elder in the province. Especially the OFW who where victims of Scam as they
were misguided.
How ever the BEAGGI members has sign a contract as outlet dealer to the cpfeeds company of
THAILAND to help member of BEAGGI concerning feeds supply depends on the BEAGGI member as
their business.
Since members of BEAGGI is not compounded in one municipality but it covers almost 13
Municipalities of Benguet because when the time we organize these association it was politically convine
that it so happen that our chairman Mr. Pescao is the campaign manager in one of the political party that
time, so that anonymous carried as chairman of the association.
Some members of the association tried to release 10 head of milking cow but when they witness
maintenance of milking can mostly some members turn off and turn to backyard piggery production.
Having livestock as an alternative livelihood like backyard swine production, the BEAGGI
validate the volumes of pigs coming from the lowland to Baguio and the province of Benguet. But base
on a survey by the BEAGGI the fast growing of people in the province of Benguet and the City of Baguio.
Especially out shirt of the city likewise the province of Benguet are sometimes out of stock or supply due
to shortage of pig supply showing that although the volume of pigs coming up from the lowlands has no
much effect to our food consumption in the city of Baguio and the province of Benguet.
BACKYARD SWINE PRODUCTION
There should be at least (5) heads of broad saw to a farmer beneficiary in this way it will justified
his time effort caring and feeding the animal production there should be piggery housing with shed per
farmer recipient as counterpart hence backyard swine production is concern.
The local livestock technician will help this backyard wine production beneficiaries on disease
control as well as breeding to ensure that their will be mated at right age and assured that this will gain as
an alternative lively hood the association is fully aware that after (3) years for a broad saw a farmer
recipient will pay their loan financial assisted project constantly.

2. SUSTAINABILITY
While it is the Responsibility of the recipient to sustain the project under the loan financial assisted
of the provincial government livelihood contract.
1. Recipients should increase their stock to at least not less than (5) five heads of broad saw in 3 years
in order to help local industry to grow.
2. Organize the recipients as an active group association/ cooperative whom government will channel
their technical assistance in other financial training whom guides tour or livestock related aids.
3. Identify and awards the years best backyard swine production under financial assisted contract
implementation.
4. D.A- PRO CAR to organize a backyard swine production recipient consultation meeting.
5. Under the D.A shall program regular inspecting, vaccination and the deworming though these
strategies it will entice other farmers or non-farmers to include backyard swine production as an
alternative source of their employment and family income, through this strategy it will entice other

To help further sustain the project each beneficiary is advice to sustained the supply of meat in the
market regularly.
