13 students of the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) went ‘gap packing’ during the semester break in January 2012. Campus trip to K’ ARTS University, Yonsei University, Sungkyunkwan University, and Soongsil University was an eye opening experience for us in learning the undergraduate student system in South Korea. 1.  Seoul – Kuala Lumpur
It was the lastday of our programME. 10 days
of life surelyabitlongforus to live duringourcommon
dailylife,butthere,itfeltlike justamoment.Despiteof
the cold,walkingall daylongwithoutstop,eventhough
the tightschedule reallydrove usexhausted,there was
no single momentwe feltburden.We enjoyedthe trip.
But, the time will surelysentusbackhome.It wasreally
sad.That day, there wasno particulareventheldexcept
packingour stuff andbe readyto catch our flight
scheduledat8.45 inthe morning.
Early at 4.30am, everyone hasgatheredoutside the guesthouse.Itwassocoldat -13 degree in
temperature andnobodydidnotshivering.Sadnessstarttoflow into ourheartwhenleavingourshelter,place
where we were boundasfamily, stayedupnightchatting, cookedmealstogether,andlotsof unforgettable
memory,dancing,singing,andlaughing.But,lifemustgoon.We have to getback to our life.

2. At 5.00am, we startedto move toHongik UniversityStationtogeta train to IncheonInternational Airport (IIA).
We were accompanied by BrotherAmmarSyahrin,the travel guide. Afteraboutanhour,we arrivedat IIA and
there,we part with BrotherAmmarafterwe checkedinour luggage,ashe had other jobto do.
We arrivedat KualaLumpurInternational Airport(KLIA) at2.00pm Malaysiatime,after6hourson plane.
Upon arriving,I heardthe pilotondutysaidthat the temperature inKualaLumpurat that time was31 degree
Celsius.We started tosweat!Justearlyinthe morningwe were inthe temperature of -13 degree,nowit was31
degree Celsius.Nice figure though.Anyhow,we collected ourluggage accordingly.One member,Khuzaimahdid
not come out off the airportas she transferredtoanotherairline tocontinue herjourneytoSingapore,her
countryhome.

We partedat the arrival area. Nasyatookcab to herhome;Jasmine waitedforherfatherto fetchher;
SyuhadafollowedJasmineasJasmine offeredtodropherbythe nearestKTMstation.The restof the members
were waitingforIIUMbusto pick themup.It tookabout an hourwaitingforIIUM buswhicharrivedat 4.00pm.
Hazman requested forthe busdrivertodrop himby TBS. Later, few othermembersalsooptedtopart together.
Izzah,Faris,Imanand me followHazman wentoff atTBS. OthermembersarrivedatIIUMcompoundat 6.00pm.

4. SIDE STORY
It iscalledMurtabakMaggi.Idon’treallyknowwhat
otherpeople nameditbutthatwas what Bellatold
me.Back duringmy school time,Iwonder whatmy
colleague calledit;PizzaMaggi isit?.Well,itdoesnot
matter whatit is called;insteadIjustwantto share
the story of MurtabakMaggi(mightnotbe
interesting,though).
Travellingaroundthe globe will costalot of
money,asfood is a necessity.Therefore,bringingour
local foodmightcome in handyto reduce the budget.
SimplyputthatMaggi is one of the brightestchoice
but itshouldnotbe takenregularly.Whatisthe point
of Murtabak Maggi?Well,it’snothingmuchbutI just
wantto brag thatI’m the one whomade it! (see the
photo-butBellaclaimedthe credit.LOL!).
It was Bellathe one whowas askingme about makingthismeal.She reallywantedtoknow howto
make it andwantedto learn.AsI have experience makingthisasI learneditduringCanteenDayatmy school,I
promisedtoteachher.Easy enough,itonlytook5 minutestoprepare it. Firstly,softenthe mee inhotboiled
waterfor fewminutesbutshouldnotletittobe toosoft. Secondly,break2eggs ina bowl and add ¾ of the
Maggi seasoninginitandstir ittogether. Thirdly,ruta small spoonof oil on a pan and transferthe softenmee
on it. Then, shape the mee soit will notflatten. Next,pouregglittle bylittle, turnthe mee around forfewtimes
and waituntil ityellowishincolour.Thenitisdone!Quickandtasty. That’s the entire story.(Toldyou thisisnot
interestingatall!).

At thistime,Ihope that thisshelterisequippedwithanautomaticcameratosnap memorable pictures
of usas we hangingout togetheraroundthe livingroom atnight.It wasjust nice forus to spenttime together.
Withoutmuchtrouble andwe were ina goodrelation.BeingwithBigMama(Mrs. Nani),andother13 siblings
reallymade me happy.Self-claimedthe eldestsibling,Jasmine,NasyaandHazman;photoposingfreak,Zyma;
the ambassador,SyikinandIzzah;twinbrothersyet withdifferentmindsets,ImanandFaris;the ‘Morea’,Zara;
twinboot-sisters,BellaandJannah; the MRC, Chun; andthe little,tiny,small yetalwayssleepyyoungestsister,
Teha.Thisis our family.
Well,that’sthe endof our journey.Memorable dayswhichneverbe forgotten.Love tohangaroundat
