12. Foreword by Dr DN Rao
The world is not flat. Pankaj Ghemawat, Professor at NYU’s Stern
School of Business began arguing in 2007, with the book
Redefining Global Strategy, that the world isn’t nearly as flat as
Tom Friedman said it was. He demonstrated it with years of
research and published DHL Global
Connectedness Index 2014, which combines measures of trade,
capital, people, and information flows to give a picture of how
entwined we citizens of the world are with each other. The
overwhelming majority of commerce, investment, and other
interactions still occur within nations. Globalisation is now in
reverse gear………
13. Preface by YS Rajan
I am happy to see that in its short span of existence the
Indian Innovators Association (IIA) with the leadership of
Dr A S Rao is addressing the critical issues of the
innovation chain. It has been done with actual practical
issues being dealt with. While it is important to have a
good overview and insight from Idea to final Commercial
and profit making stages (in case of public good products
cost benefit considerations for economic sustainability),
actual implementation could suffer if the details are not
attended to meticulously. I often emphasize that while
foresight is needed, it is the attention to details that will
deliver success……
14. Introduction by HK Mittal
…The emergence of Start-Up wave in India is a
relatively new phenomenon. India is today
undergoing a fundamental shift with
entrepreneurship & innovation being primary
catalysts in job creation and solving everyday
problems. During 2014–15, more than 98,000 new
companies were incorporated in India.
