This document discusses space vector PWM techniques for cascaded multilevel inverters. It proposes a simplified space vector PWM method called switching times SVPWM. This method calculates switching times directly based on phase voltages without requiring sector identification or angle information. Simulation models are presented for 5-level and 7-level cascaded inverters using both the proposed switching times SVPWM and traditional sine triangle PWM. Simulation results show the output voltages and THD comparisons between the two PWM methods.
