【GLOBAL WARMING OR ICE AGE?】
“Announce this to the house of Jacob and
proclaim it in Judah: Hear this, you foolish and
senseless people, who have eyes but do not see, who
have ears but do not hear: Should you not fear me?”
declares the LORD. “Should you not tremble in my
presence? I made the sand a boundary for the sea, an
everlasting barrier it cannot cross it. But these people
have stubborn and rebellious hearts; they have turned
aside and gone away. They do not say to themselves,
„Let us fear the LORD our God, who gives autumn
and spring rains in season, who assures us of the
regular weeks of harvest.‟ Your wrongdoings have
kept these away; your sins have deprived you of good.
“Among my people are wicked men who lie in
wait like men who snare birds and like those who set
traps to catch men. Like cages full of birds, their
houses are full of deceit; they have become rich and
powerful and have grown fat and sleek. Their evil
deeds have no limit; they do not plead the case of the
fatherless to win it, they do not defend the rights of the
poor. Should I not punish them for this?” declares the
LORD. “Should I not avenge myself on such a nation
as this?
“A horrible and shocking thing has happened in
the land: The prophets prophesy lies, the priests rule
by their own authority, and my people love it this way.
But what will you do in the end? JEREMIAH 5:20-31.
Observe therefore all the commands I am giving
you today, so that you may have the strength to go in
and take over the land……the land you are crossing
the Jordan to take possession of is a land of
mountains and valleys that drinks rain from heaven.
It is a land the LORD cares for; the eyes of the LORD
your God are continually on it from the beginning of
the year to its end.

So if you faithfully obey the commands I am giving you today— to love the LORD your
God and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul—then I will send rain on your
land in its season, both autumn and spring rains, so that you may gather in your grain, new
wine and oil. I will provide grass in the fields for your cattle, and you will eat and be satisfied.
DEUTERONOMY 11:11-15.
From the very beginning of this year we have experienced a wave of freezing weather
conditions in the northern hemispheres, which marked one of the worst in decades. We have been
very familiar with the term “global warming” but not “new ice age”. When we are not used to
being confronted with heavy snow and widespread ice, the function of society is instantly
affected and especially travel is severely hampered. There seems to be a sharp rise in natural
disasters; big earthquakes, floods, freezing weather, volcano eruptions, and so on. As the
Scripture warns us of natural disasters as one of the results of man‟s rebellion to God, so there are
not few who sense God‟s impending judgment. Not only Bible-believing Christians but also
secular people seem to be beginning to think so. Among many, New Agers connect the
plundering of Mother Earth with natural catastrophes. There are many who warn of a political
connection behind the New Agers‟ proclamation.
Clifford Hill (C and M Ministries Trust) explicitly puts it: „The latest powerbroker to come on
the scene is the climate control lobby who have become a powerful international group that have
emerged out of the new-Age movement. They are about to achieve an incredible international
dictatorship coup with the signing of the Copenhagen Treaty December 2009. It is based upon an
amazing pseudo-scientific scare-scam. This group of New Agers, atheists, secularists and God-
haters have managed to convince the world that the whole of our climate is changing through
what they call “global warning” which they attribute to carbon dioxide emissions from our cities
and industrial plants. Clearly, the world is warming slowly, but by natural causes. The scare
stories that have grabbed graphic headlines around the world are being used to gain world control.
At last a group of scientists have spoken up exposing the lies behind the scams. The fact is that
no more than one sixth of global warming is due to radiation trapped in the ozone layer……The
Copenhagen treaty is actually a cover for world government. That term is explicitly used in the
Treaty. It will set up an organization that overrides national governments handing over control of
finance and trade with no provision for opt out. The 200 page treaty gives greater power to
unelected global rulers than the Lisbon Treaty had given to the EU. It will have oversight of
national economies, dictating what fuel you can use in your car and how nations can manage
international trade. It will set up a system where rich nations can buy the CO2 emissions quota
from poorer nations and will effectively give economic control to this unelected group.‟ His
mentioning of “unelected group” is ominous because it apparently indicates the end-time world
government under the antichrist.
As for the exposure of the so-called “global warming” phenomena by some scientists, Science
Daily reported as follows. According to new research, published in “Geophysical Research
Letters”, there has been no rise in the airborne fraction of carbon dioxide in the past 150 years.
„Most of the carbon dioxide emitted by human activity does not remain in the atmosphere, but is
instead absorbed by the oceans and terrestrial ecosystems. In fact, only about 45 percent of
emitted carbon dioxide stays in the atmosphere. However, some studies have suggested that the
ability of oceans and plants to absorb carbon dioxide recently may have begun to decline and that
the airborne fraction of anthropogenic carbon dioxide emissions is therefore beginning to
increase. Many climate models also assume that the airborne fraction will increase. Because
understanding of the airborne fraction of carbon dioxide is important for predicting future climate
change, it is essential to have accurate knowledge of whether that fraction is changing or will
change as emissions increase. To assess whether the airborne fraction is indeed increasing,
Wolfgang Knorr of the Department of Earth Sciences at the University of Bristol reanalyzed
available atmospheric carbon dioxide and emissions data since 1850 and considers the

uncertainties in the data. In contradiction to some recent studies, he finds that the airborne
fraction of carbon dioxide has not increased either during the past 150 years or during the most
recent five decades‟ ( 31st
Dec.‟09).
The following are some excerpts from “Climate Change is Natural: 100 reasons Why”,
released in a dossier issued by “the European Foundation” on 15th
Dec. „09, why climate change
is natural and not man-made: (1) There is “no real scientific proof” that the current warming is
caused by the rise of greenhouse gases from man‟s activity. (2) Man-made carbon dioxide
emissions throughout human history constitute less than 0.00022 percent of the total naturally
emitted from the mantle of the earth during geological history. (3) Warmer periods of the Earth‟s
history came around 800 years before rises in CO2 levels. (4) After World War II, there was a
huge surge in recorded CO2 emissions but global temperatures fell for four decades after 1940.
(5) Throughout the Earth‟s history, temperatures have often been warmer than now and CO2
levels have often been higher – more than ten times as high. (6) Significant changes in climate
have continually occurred throughout geologic time. (7) The 0.7ºC increase in the average global
temperature over the last hundred years is entirely consistent with well-established, long-term,

I have come across a quite interesting article about a “new ice age”, which tells the possibility
of the earth‟s northern hemispheres slipping into an Ice Age before long. Gary Stearman explains
how it could happen: The following words were published on January 25, 2004, in the UK Independent:
"Britain is likely to be plunged into an ice age within our lifetime by global warming, new research suggests.
"A study, which is being taken seriously by top government scientists, has uncovered a change ‘of
remarkable amplitude' in the circulation of the waters of the North Atlantic." An "ice age?" "Global warming?"
How can warming cause ice? It's a long story, with many interesting twists. Because of its possible
connection with Bible prophecy, it may be well worth our while to stay on top of this story.
It begins back in the 1960's, when climate experts preached the dire warning that a new ice age was
approaching. They said that within two or three decades, it might be impossible to grow crops in the arable
grain and pasture lands of Canada, the northern Unites States and much of Europe. They had concluded
that perhaps ten to fifteen thousand years ago, the climate had turned radically cooler, for reasons unknown.
After that, it had slowly begun to warm up. In their scenario, glaciers receded, the wooly mammoths died,
civilization spread from Africa and Mesopotamia through Europe and Asia, then to the Americas. Through
the centuries and into the modern era, the climate remained remarkably stable.
The twentieth century, and its two World Wars brought the science of meteorology to new heights of
accuracy. For the first time in recorded history, global weather data were accumulated. Trends were
analyzed, and……From this, came the "Ice Age" prediction. But in the decades that followed, monitoring
equipment became more sophisticated. Real-time satellite data alerted the watchful to the growing threat of
"greenhouse gasses." Carbon dioxide and methane levels were rising. Though it was hotly debated, most
scientists came to believe that as a result of this, the mean temperature of the ocean was rising.
In the 1980's and 90's, we began to hear the term, "global warming." The strident language of the
environmentalists marked the concluding decade of the twentieth century. They urged international transport
and manufacturing to reduce the use of hydrocarbon fuels – coal and oil. They warned that polluting gasses
would destroy the world. It was the age of automotive catalytic converters and sharp restrictions on freon for
air conditioning.
Many nations signed the 1992 Kyoto Protocol, demanding planet-wide stringent controls on the
production of greenhouse gasses. Some, like the United States, did not sign. In fact, many scientists felt
that there was insufficient data to force such radical changes. But they were completely unaware of a new
and alarming development in the Atlantic Ocean.
For over a century, it has been well known that the Gulf Stream warms Europe. At the equator, the
tropical sun heats it up. At the same time, fresh water evaporates from its surface, entering the atmosphere,
and concentrating its salt content. This heat-laden, dense, salty water then flows northward, along the East
Coast of the United States. From there, it turns northeast toward Europe. There, the water gives up its heat,

modifying the weather of England, Scandinavia, Europe and Russia. Their rains and productive growing
seasons are the direct result of the warming waters of the Gulf Stream.
Having done its work, the cooled, salty water sinks to the bottom of the ocean. Its higher density causes
it to flow downward and back toward the south. Soon, it returns to the equatorial zone, where it begins to
rise. Once again, it is heated and loops back to the north to repeat the cycle.
Scientists call this huge circulatory system the "Ocean Conveyor." If it were to stop, Europe would be
deprived of half its heat. It is a startling fact that the continent receives as much heat from the Gulf Stream
as it does from the Sun.
The Independent puts it this way: "If that happens, Britain and northern Europe are expected to switch
abruptly to the climate of Labrador – which is on the same latitude – bringing a nightmare scenario where
farmland turns to tundra and winter temperatures drop below – 20°C [- 5°F]……"A report by the
international Geosphere-Biosphere Program in Sweden – launched by Nobel prize-winner Professor Paul
Crutzen and other top scientists – warned…… that pollution threatened to ‘trigger changes with catastrophic
consequences' like these."
On January 27, 2004, the highly respected Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution prepared a paper for
the World Economic Forum. It is entitled, "Abrupt Climate Change: Should We Be Worried?" by Robert B.
Gagosian, president and director. Its basic thesis states that geophysicists may have been mistakenly
concentrating their attention on the threat of gradual global warming. It points out that, "Fossil evidence
clearly demonstrates that the Earth's climate can shift gears within a decade, establishing new and different
patterns that can persist for decades to centuries. In addition, these climate shifts do not necessarily have
universal, global effects. They can generate a counterintuitive scenario: Even as the earth as a whole
continues to warm gradually, large regions may experience a precipitous and disruptive shift into colder
climates."
They say, "It is important to clarify that we are not contemplating a situation of either abrupt cooling or
global warming. Rather, abrupt regional cooling and gradual global warming can unfold simultaneously.
Indeed greenhouse warming is a destabilizing factor that makes abrupt climate change more probable."
Here's the bottom line: Melting glaciers in the north are releasing fresh water. The influx of fresh water
into the North Atlantic, reduces its salinity, and prevents the Gulf Stream water from sinking for its return trip
to the equator. This action would stop the Conveyor.
Woods Hole scientists say, "Computer models simulating ocean-atmosphere climate dynamics indicate that
the north Atlantic region would cool 3 to 5 [degrees] Celsius if Conveyor circulation were totally disrupted. It
would produce winters twice as cold as the worst winters on record in the eastern United States in the past
century. In addition, previous Conveyor shutdowns have been linked with widespread droughts throughout
the globe."
Scientists say that if the "climatic flip" happens, its effects will last for decades, at least. European
agriculture would cease. Energy and food shortages would plague once-temperate lands. To save
themselves, perhaps millions of people would flock southward. The geopolitics of such a calamity would be
devastating. (‘Prophecy In The News Magazine’, Jan.’10).
As shown in these passages and also all over Scripture, especially in Psalms and Ecclesiastes,
the close link between the sea and the rain is described. The rivers run into the sea and yet, the
sea does not get full and evaporated water returns to the air to produce clouds, from which rain is
produced and so on. This is the water cycle on God‟s created earth. Like this, God controls
everything on earth and heaven to sustain His creation perfectly. As Deuteronomy warned God‟s
chosen people Israel about the consequence of their rebellion against Him, so if we had been
faithful to the Creator, the God Almighty, He would have abundantly blessed us in all our ways
throughout human history. If we witness growing catastrophes around us, it is a warning sign to
each individual of our rebellion against the Lord, and we have to remember the truth that the
Lord is mighty enough to sustain the order of the global environment. If we firmly trust in Him,
we will not be shaken by any deceptive pseudo-scientists, i.e., ‘wicked men who lie in wait like
men who snare birds and like those who set traps to catch men.’
