-ED and –ING Adjectives
Description

• Lord of the Rings 
• Something (noun) is/are interest-ING….
-ING adjectives are used to describe 
things, people, places, activities. 
This a an INTERESTING girl. 
(These are the sources of the feelings)
Feeling/Opinion 
I am/I feel interest-ED in…. 
- learning English - Politics 
- The President - a beautiful girl 
- The Lord of the Rings - your class
-ED adjectives are used to talk about 
a person’s feelings or opinions. 
She is INTERESTED IN his money. 
(These are the receivers of feelings)
-ED adjectives are also usually followed by small 
prepositions like in, with, of, about or by. 
Eg: 
• I’m really excited about my vacation. 
• I’m annoyed with a friend of mine. He never 
returns my phone calls.
I am interested vs. I am interesting 
The first one means I like it, I want to hear about it. 
The second one means that I am being described as 
something people find interesting.
Create questions 
• Who is amazing? 
Neymar Jr. is an amazing soccer player. 
I love him!!
What is boring? 
This is a boring class!!!!
Who is challenging? 
He is a challenging man.
Why is she bored today?
Why is she tired?
Why is Shiellini annoyed?
