The Qin Dynasty was the first imperial dynasty in China, lasting from 221 to 206 BC. It was formed after the state of Qin conquered six other states, unifying China under the rule of Emperor Qin Shi. The Qin Dynasty established the foundation of the centralized government system used by subsequent dynasties.
