5. Moses said to the LORD, “You have been
telling me, ‘Lead these people,’ but you
have not let me know whom you will send
with me. You have said, ‘I know you by
name and you have found favor with me.’ If
you are pleased with me, teach me your
ways so I may know you and continue to
find favor with you. Remember that this
nation is your people.”
6. The LORD replied, “My Presence will go
with you, and I will give you rest.”
7. Then Moses said to him, “If your Presence
does not go with us, do not send us up
from here. How will anyone know that you
are pleased with me and with your people
unless you go with us? What else will
distinguish me and your people from all
the other people on the face of the earth?”
8. What do we learn from this part of the
revelation story about
‘naturally supernatural’ ?
9. Moses said to the LORD, “You have been telling me,

pleased with me, teach me your ways so I may know

Then Moses said to him, “If your Presence does not go

know that you are pleased with me and with your
people unless you go with us? What else will distinguish
me and your people from all the other people on the
face of the earth?”
11. 1. Moses talked to God like any of us
would talk to another person.
2. Moses didn’t assume that what he knew
was going to be enough but kept on
asking God the things he needed to
know to complete the task assigned to
him.
3. God spoke to Moses in a ‘natural’ way –
i.e. using regular words.
12. 4. God responded by giving him what he
needed, not just the answer to his
question.
5. Moses gained a sharpened sense of
what it meant to be the “people of
God” from the encounter.
13. Truth for all times and circumstances
UNIVERSAL PRINCIPLES
14. 1. I should talk to God the same way as I
talk to any other person.
2. I need to keep on learning by talking to
God and asking him for the things I need
to know.
3. I need to anticipate that God will
communicate with me in a way that is
normal to me – [words, pictures,
feelings].
15. 4. I need to notice carefully what God
says to me, because he will be telling
me what I need to know, not just the
answer to my question.
5. I need to apply what God has told me
to the whole situation, so that it will
become a kingdom of God foundation,
not just a passing fad.
17. SOME COMMON ISSUES
1. How can I be sure that God will speak to me?
2. How do I know when it is from God and
when it is just created by my own mind?
3. ??????
19. 1. TIME AND PLACE Find the circumstances
that will enable you to speak everything
that is your heart to God.
2. DELIBERATE RISK Expect God to teach you
and lead you by challenging what you
already know with what you need to know.
3. GOD COMING TO YOU Presume that God
can put new information or renewed old
information in the sphere of your
undertanding. Presume that he will speak
to you.
20. 4. NOTE WELL: Notice carefully
everything that comes to you in the
interaction that is Jesus-looking ,
Biblical and Kingdom.
5. APPLY FULLY: Start to apply what God
has said to your whole circumstances
and see how differently they look from
God’s point of view – and how
differently you are to relate to them.
