The document discusses the importance of knowing Christ. It states that through Christ the veil is removed and believers can be transformed into God's glory. It also notes that Christ's death, burial and resurrection is the gospel message through which people are saved. Additionally, it emphasizes that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life, and that no one can know God the Father except through knowing Christ.
5. 7 But whatever things were gain to me, those things I have counted as
loss for the sake of Christ. 8 More than that, I count all things to be loss
in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for
whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them but rubbish
so that I may gain Christ, 9 and may be found in Him, not having a
righteousness of my own derived from the Law, but that which is
through faith in Christ, the righteousness which comes from God on
the basis of faith, 10 that I may know Him and the power of His
resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to
His death; 11 in order that I may attain to the resurrection from the
dead.

else has a mind to put confidence in the flesh, I far more: 5circumcised

Hebrew of Hebrews; as to the Law, a Pharisee; 6 as to zeal, a
persecutor of the church; as to the righteousness which is in the Law,

10. 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one
comes to the Father but through Me. 7 “If you had known Me, you
would have known My Father also; from now on you know Him, and
have seen Him.” 8 Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it
is enough for us.” 9 Jesus said to him, “Have I been so long with you,
and yet you have not come to know Me, Philip? He who has seen Me
has seen the Father; how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? 10 “Do
you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in Me? The
words that I say to you I do not speak on My own initiative, but the
Father abiding in Me does His works. 11 “Believe Me that I am in the
Father and the Father is in Me; otherwise believe because of the works
themselves.

14. 1 For I do not want you to be unaware, brethren, that our fathers were
all under the cloud and all passed through the sea; 2 and all were
baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea; 3 and all ate the same
spiritual food; 4 and all drank the same spiritual drink, for they were
drinking from a spiritual rock which followed them; and the rock was
Christ.

17. 33 As they were untying the colt, its owners said to them, “Why are you
untying the colt?” 34 They said, “The Lord has need of it.” 35 They
brought it to Jesus, and they threw their coats on the colt and put
Jesus on it. 36 As He was going, they were spreading their coats on
the road. 37 As soon as He was approaching, near the descent of the
Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of the disciples began to praise God
joyfully with a loud voice for all the miracles which they had seen,
38shouting: “BLESSED IS THE KING WHO COMES IN THE NAME
OF THE LORD; Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!” 39 Some of
the Pharisees in the crowd said to Him, “Teacher, rebuke Your
disciples.” 40 But Jesus answered, “I tell you, if these become silent,
the stones will cry out!”

18. 12 Therefore having such a hope, we use great boldness in our
speech, 13 and are not like Moses, who used to put a veil over his face
so that the sons of Israel would not look intently at the end of what was
fading away. 14 But their minds were hardened; for until this very day
at the reading of the old covenant the same veil remains unlifted,
because it is removed in Christ. 15 But to this day whenever Moses is
read, a veil lies over their heart; 16 but whenever a person turns to the
Lord, the veil is taken away. 17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where
the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. 18 But we all, with unveiled
face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being
transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the
Lord, the Spirit.

19. 1 Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present
your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is
your spiritual service of worship. 2 And do not be conformed to this
world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you
may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable
and perfect.

21. 34 The eunuch answered Philip and said, “Please tell me, of whom
does the prophet say this? Of himself or of someone else?” 35 Then
Philip opened his mouth, and beginning from this Scripture he
preached Jesus to him. 36 As they went along the road they came to
some water; and the eunuch said, “Look! Water! What prevents me
from being baptized?” 37 And Philip said, “If you believe with all your
heart, you may.” And he answered and said, “I believe that Jesus
Christ is the Son of God.” 38 And he ordered the chariot to stop; and
they both went down into the water, Philip as well as the eunuch, and
he baptized him

Last Sunday morning, our lesson was on,“Knowing God.” This was specifically focused on knowing God the Father. This morning I would like to focus on knowing Christ. Before I get into the lesson, I would like for you to think for a moment on what brings you the most joy in this life?
...some may say,“That's easy, it's spending time with my grandchildren.”
...to thers it may be the solitude of time alone, fishing out on a quite lake.
...To others it might be fishing with the grandchildren!
Nothing held more value for Paul than his relationship with Christ. What were the, “all things” he loss or gave up for the, “Value of knowing Christ?”In the previous verses....
What he gave up was his former life.
The old Paul died when Christ became alive in him.
Paul shows us the value of KNOWING CHRIST! Why is knowing Christ so important that Paul would give up the life he knew?
Christ's response to Philip. In order to know God the Father, we have to know Christ!
The Jews were ready to stone Christ for making this statement, “For you, being a man, make yourself out to be God.”
Christ is the way, the truth, and the life that leads us through the wilderness and into the promised land.
Christ was in the beginning
The stones would cry out...because of the majesty of Jesus Christ
We must come to know Christ because we cannot see the glory of the Lord without Christ. Unless we KNOW CHRIST, a veil lies over our hearts.
This is why CHRIST is the center of GOSPEL MESSAGE
This is why CHRIST is the center of GOSPEL MESSAGE
But what does it mean to KNOW CHRIST???
