2. 1 Peter 5 1 The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed: 2 Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof , not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; 3 Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being ensamples to the flock. 4 And when the Chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away. 3. 5 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. 6 Humble yourselves therefore under the Mighty Hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time: 7 Casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you.
4. Many other sins flow out of pride. Rebellion Beautiful Ambitious Smart
5. Luke 10 18 And He (Jesus) said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from Heaven.

7. Proverbs 21 24 Proud and haughty scorner is his name, who dealeth in proud wrath. (TLB) 24 Mockers are proud, haughty, and arrogant. A mocker or scorner is the same: he holds people in derision ; he makes fun of others. He will not respect people because he always thinks he is above them .
8. Hosea 13:6 (NIV) When I fed them, they were satisfied; when they were satisfied, they became proud; then they forgot Me. Pride makes one take credit for his own blessing. He has no reason to be thankful; he did it all . An ungrateful heart forgets God . He becomes a god unto himself.
9. Psalms 94 NIV 2 Rise up, O Judge of the earth; pay back to the proud what they deserve. 3 How long will the wicked, O Lord, how long will the wicked be jubilant? 4 They pour out arrogant words ; all the evildoers are full of boasting .
10. 1 Peter 5:6 Humble yourselves therefore under the Mighty Hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time: 7 Casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you. To humble ourselves under God's Mighty Hand is a choice that we must make. It's a choice in attitude and in deed. We willingly accept God's Will for our life, believing that He is all wise and caring. We seek His guidance for every decision.
12. "I'll do it myself." is the opposite of humbling ourselves under God's Mighty Hand. Proverbs 10 22 The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and He addeth no sorrow with it. When we cast all our care upon the Lord, depending on Him for everything, He will be with us, holding our hand, guiding our steps, supplying our need, protecting us, and comfortin g us in time of trouble.
