This document appears to be notes from a sermon or bible study on the topic of giving, generosity, and managing finances according to God's plan. The notes discuss biblical passages about giving cheerfully and not for recognition, honoring God with your resources, tithing, and having faith that God will provide for your needs. The overarching message is that God desires his people to be generous with their time, talents and money, and that he promises to bless generous givers and meet their needs.

We studied all that God says about working, and
working with a godly attitude.
We have studied much about taking care of
God’s Provision.
Now we will take a look in God’s Word to
understand His desire for us to be generous.
Generous with our time, talent, and money;
All our resources.
6. 6
Jesus said that we must live by “every word”
that proceeds from the mouth of God.”
That includes John 3:16, and it includes
Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, the whole Bible.
Every Word of God is for our living.
7. 7
We must be careful to keep the right attitude.
Some people see Scriptures on giving, and try
to obligate God through giving.
Giving to get is the worst attitude about giving.
We don’t make deals with God.
We obey Him because we love Him.
We give because we love our Lord
and His people.
8. 8
II Cor 9:6-7 But this I say, He which soweth
sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which
soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.
Every man according as he purposeth in his heart,
so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for
God loveth a cheerful giver.
9. 9
Luke 6:38 Give and it shall be given unto you,
good measure, pressed down, and shaken together,
and running over, shall men give into your bosom.
For with the same measure that you mete withal it
shall be measured to you again.
With the same measure that you mete -- If we give
generously, willingly, cheerfully, and lovingly
People will give to us -- generously,
willingly, cheerfully, and with love,
when we have need.
10. 10
But if you give grudgingly out of a stingy heart;
And you gripe about the need to give or do;
Then God will not bless you for what
you do give or do for others.
God loves a cheerful giver.
11. 11
Matt 6:1-4 Take heed that ye do not your
alms {good deeds} before men, to be seen of
them: otherwise ye have no reward of your
Father which is in Heaven. Therefore when
thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet
before thee, as the hypocrites do in the
synagogues and in the streets, that they may
have glory of men. Verily I say unto you,
They have their reward.
12. 12
But when thou doest alms, let not thy left
hand know what thy right hand doeth: That
thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father
which seeth in secret Himself shall reward
thee openly. Matt 6:1-4
13. 13
Don’t make a show of giving.
Give quietly and generously.
Those who call a
press conference to
announce giving
already have their
reward.
14. 14
Prov 3:9-10 Honor the Lord with thy substance,
and with the firstfruits (the first and best) of all
thine increase: So shall thy barns be filled with
plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new
wine.
Give in faith, believing and trusting God
for your own needs to be met.
He won’t let you down.
15. 15
Malachi 3:7-10 Even from the days of your fathers ye
are gone away from Mine ordinances, and have not
kept them. Return unto Me, and I will return unto you,
saith the LORD of hosts. But ye said, Wherein shall
we return? Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed
Me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee?
16. 16
In tithes and offerings. Ye are cursed with a
curse: for ye have robbed Me, even this whole
nation. Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse,
that there may be meat in Mine house, and prove
Me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I
will not open you the windows of Heaven, and
pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be
room enough to receive it. Malachi 3:7-10
Have you ever felt like it was just
impossible to have all that you need?
18. 18
1 Cor. 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let
every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath
prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I
come.
Sunday is the that God set aside for the church to
receive tithes and offerings.
We are to give as God has prospered us.
1 Cor 8:12 For if there be first a willing mind, it is
accepted according to that a man hath, and not
according to that he hath not.
