3. Acts 28:11
And after
three months
(February) we
departed in a ship
of Alexandria,
which had
wintered in the

by the Roman soldiers and the
ship’s master and crew.

4. Of course Christians don’t rely on luck.
Our trust is in our Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ.
We rely on His Word to make blessed choices.
Deuteronomy 30 19-20 I call Heaven and earth to
record this day against you, that I have set before
you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore
choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:
That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that
thou mayest obey His Voice, and that thou mayest
cleave unto Him: for He is thy life, and the length of
thy days: …

5. 12 And landing at Syracuse (capital of Sicily), we
tarried there three days. 13 And from thence we
fetched a compass, and came to Rhegium: and
after one day the south wind blew, and we came the
next day to Puteoli:
5
6. 14 Where we found brethren, and were desired to
tarry with them seven days: and so we went toward
Rome.
Already a church here at Puteoli.
Many Jews were in Jerusalem for Pentecost when
the Holy Spirit came, and they heard Peter preach,
And were saved.
When they went home, they spread the Gospel.
6
7. 15 And from thence, when
the brethren heard of us,
they came to meet us as
far as Appii Forum, and
The three taverns: whom
when Paul saw, he
thanked God, and took
courage.
Three Taverns – 33 miles from Rome.
Appii Forum – 43 miles from Rome.
They walked out from Rome to meet Paul.

8. 1 Thessalonians 5 (NIV) 10 He died for us so that,
whether we are awake or asleep, we may live
together with Him. 11 Therefore encourage one
another and build each other up, just as in fact you
are doing.
Hebrews 10 24-25 And let us consider one another
to provoke unto love and to good works: Not
forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as
the manner of some is; but exhorting (to call near;
encourage; comfort) one another: and so much the
more, as ye see the day approaching.
8
9. We must allow ourselves to be encouraged by
fellow believers.
God has not called us to with-
hold ourselves from the body.
God has called us each to be
an active part of the body.
9
10. John 15 (Jesus said) 12 This is My Commandment,
That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
Romans 12 10 Be kindly affectioned one to another
with brotherly love; in honor preferring one
another;
Romans 15 7 Wherefore receive (accept) ye one ano-
ther, as Christ also received us to the glory of God.
Acceptance goes both ways.
To be accepted by the body, one
must accept the body. 10
11. Romans 14 (TLB) 13 So don’t criticize each other
anymore. … Church, family, whoever.
In other words, I have a full time job keeping
myself straight; let each do the same.
There is no gift of the Spirit called criticism, nor
one called fault-finding, or putting down.
These are devilish traits; not godly traits.
11
12. We must never fuss or complain about petty things.
Instead, build one another up and encourage.
That is what the church is for,
and family even more.
