1. Presentation on PPB narrative elements
2. Presentation of Programme /Sub-programme level descriptive pages
3. Discussion and feedback to improve the draft PPB
4. Finalization of draft for use at district level.
Workshop’s Summary:
The Programme and Performance Budget Hand Holding workshop held on February9-10, 2010
at Hotel Capitol Hill Ranchi. It was attended by the Task force members numbering 23 from five
pilot districts viz. Latehar, Gumla, Ramgarh, Khunti and Deoghar.
Dr. Vijay Prakash Sharma, Senior Technical Advisor PPB facilitated the workshop using WPPF
methodology of participatory and adult learning.
The presentations on the first day of the workshop related to PPB narrative elements, the second
day was the day of working exercises and the groups completed budget descriptive pages in PPB
format. They were assisted by DALs of respective districts. Dr. Manju Shukla, State Director,
Vistaar Project Jharkhand, thanked the participants for their presence in the workshop in spite of
Naxal Bandh call and encouraging Vistaar team. She also emphasized the importance of using
PPB document for monitoring and evaluation of the programme at the district level.
