2. DEFINITION:
A spiritual gift is
a supernatural ability,
given to a believer
at the time of salvation,
enabling him to minister
to the Body of Christ
in the area of that gift.

3. SPIRITUAL GIFTS…The Basics:
Who has one? Every Believer!!
When did you receive your gift?
At the time of salvation, I Cor
12:11-13

4. SPIRITUAL GIFTS…The Basics:
How many gifts do I have?
Just ONE!!
Why did I get the gift I did?
 Because God chose to give
you that gift!, I Cor. 12:11!
 Because it “fits”, I Cor.

6. Why did God give spiritual gifts?
• That God might be glorified
through Jesus Christ, I Peter
4:10-11.
• That the saints might be
equipped, Eph. 4:11-12
• That the work of service/ministry
might be accomplished, Eph.
4:11-12.

7. Why did God give spiritual gifts?
• That the Body of Christ might be
built up, Eph. 4:11-12.
• That the Body of Christ might be
brought to maturity, Eph. 4:13-16.
• To foster unity in the Body of
Christ! Eph. 4:13-16; I Cor.
12:24b-25.

8. Why did God give spiritual gifts?
• To promote love in the Body of
Christ, Eph. 4:15-16.
• So that the needs of the Body
would be met by members caring
for one another, I Cor. 12:7, 25

9. SPIRITUAL GIFTS AND
RELATIONSHIPS...
With the Trinity, I Cor. 12:4-6...
• The Holy Spirit Distributes the gifts
(12:7,11)
• The Son Directs the Ministry of the
Gifts.
• The Father “Energizes” the Gifts.

Diversity...with unity!
• The same Spirit, v. 4
• The same Lord (God the Son),v. 5
