Be Kind
You may have noticed that we have started a
daily video called the “Morning Message” on
social media. The goal is to keep these messages
under 2 minutes, so they are like your morning
coffee: A quick spiritual pick-me-up. In each
video, we end with the two simple words: “Be kind.” This is a message within a message.
Every day, we are being reminded that though our situation is not what we would
choose, we still show kindness. These messages are not meant to teach us the concept of
kindness, but instead to remind us.
I need your help in a few ways. First, if you see the morning message, and you use social
media, please share the videos. Next, I want to encourage you to spend some time engag-
ing with people who comment on the videos you share. Maybe even privately message
friends to join in our worship live stream.
By doing this, you will be reaching out and showing kindness, but you will also be help-
ing us spread these messages that promote the Church. Who knows what might happen as
people tune in to our services?
Finally, I need creative suggestions for places to shoot the videos with a verse or idea to
tie in the background. For example, standing in front of the basketball goal and asking
“What is our goal?” immediately provides an object lesson and makes the morning mes-
sages fun and memorable.
A big thanks to the office staff for making the video production fun and interactive, to
Sammy Estes for coining the term “Morning Message,” and to Tonya Hayes for giving us
the idea to use different settings. Also thank you to everyone who has already been shar-
ing these lessons!
Remember.

The Unwearied Runner
Part Three
We need to recognize the condition for the
receiving of this unwearied power. First we need to understand
that God is the source of this power. Moses commanded Is-
rael, “that you may love the LORD your God, that you may
obey His voice, and that you may cling to Him, for He is your
life and the length of your days; and that you may dwell in the
land which the LORD swore to your fathers, to Abraham,
Isaac, and Jacob, to give them” Deut. 30:20). The Israelites
needed to remember that God was their life and the length of
their days. Life and its blessings, the rich promises of God are
dependent upon Israel’s faithful obedience to Him.
The verses immediately before our text tell us that God is
the source of this strength. “Have you not known? Have you
not heard? The everlasting God, the LORD, The Creator of the
ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary. His understand-
ing is unsearchable. 29 He gives power to the weak, And to
those who have no might He increases strength” (Isa. 40:28,
29). But the key to receiving this strength is in our willingness
to wait upon the Lord. Verse 31 tells us, “But those who wait
on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up
with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They
shall walk and not faint.” Again and again the book of Psalms
relates the importance of our patience in waiting upon the
Lord. In Psalms 37:7 the people of God are told. “Rest in the
LORD, and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him
who prospers in his way, Because of the man who brings
wicked schemes to pass.” Brother Coffman noted about this
verse that “Every Christian, at one time or another, has mar-
velled at the success and prosperity of men who are openly
profane and wicked; and it is that problem with which the
psalmist is dealing.” To such an individual Isaiah says they are
not to fret, that is “they are not to become irritated, angry, dis-
turbed, or upset by what must appear to many as an injustice.”
Rather God’s people need to “rest in the Lord and wait pa-
tiently for Him.” Again the psalmist reminds God’s people that
those who are prosperous due to their evil schemes will be cut
off but those who wait on God will inherit the earth. “Cease
from anger, and forsake wrath; Do not fret-it only causes harm.
9 For evildoers shall be cut off; But those who wait on the
LORD, They shall inherit the earth” (Psa. 37:9). Today if we
will keep our hearts open to the inflow of the Divine word we
shall never grow old in heart.
Finally we want to notice the way in which this power will
be manifested. We are told that those who patiently wait on the
Lord “shall mount up with wings as eagles.” Adam Clark said
of this verse that “It has been a common and popular opinion
that the eagle lives and retains his vigour to a great age; and
that, beyond the common lot of other birds, he moults in his
old age, and renews his feathers, and with them his youth.”
Psalms 103:5 reads, “Who satisfies your mouth with good
things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle's”.
