but it can be used for other good purposes

«Knowledge society»

is worried about losing control ?

Open Coesione (www.opencoesione.gov.it/) “our data” in a platform
create/ruled by another organization
We could loose control if we don’t partecipate !
The process already started and is ongoing, you cannot stop it!

So what if the organization is earning value (money,
time, improvements) from public data ?
The case
In Catasto, they have found an alternative way to face data: ask
little money if you need update data with legal value - but every 6
months that data can be open to everyone for other purposes
Never enter into conflict but think of alternative scenarios

When we asked an organization to
open their data we realized that an
industrial big player had already
asked for their data, one year before
Public sector is already in a big
market. There is the risk to be
unaware of this
Public data has to be considerd as a
common good and public sector has
to have the governance and make
real choices

What is peculiar in Trentino Open data aproach
Open Data for smart growth:
data are enabling factor for innovation and growth
Find your own way to enter the new paradigm we give the
platform and the knowledge, you find your way
A Complete data value chain from the data creation/production to
the creation of innovative services (on/with/for the data)
The Trentino as a laboratory means: PS questions are answered
by the Research and Innovation (R + I) partner and are becoming
services thanks to the SMEs involvement (triple helix model)
