2. Summary
The seismic waves are waves of energy that travel
through the earth’s layers, and are a result of an
earthquake, explosion, or a volcano that gives out low-
frequency acoustic energy.

3. Types Of Waves
There are three types of earthquakes,
The first is primary waves
The second is secondary waves
Body waves which are the strongest.

4. Primary waves
Cause particles in rocks to move
back and forth in the same direction.

5. Secondary Waves
Secondary waves cause the rocks they pass
through to change in shape.

6. Love waves
They form a distinct class, different from other types of seismic
waves, such as P-waves and S-waves (both body waves), or
Rayleigh waves (another type of surface wave).
