7. ★﹨Let’s Move to The Next Part..* In order to make everyone know more about the past in Youchang, we’d like to introduce the four famous old landmarks in Youchang.

YouchangYuanshuai Temple It is said that Yuanshuai Temple was first built in 1661, when some soldiers were sent to set up a camp named “the Right Camp” in Youchang area by Jheng Cheng-gong of the Ming Dynasty. In order to inspire and encourage all the soldiers to follow the example of General Xie, this temple was built as the faith center of all the soldiers. Besides, the ancestors of six families – Yuan, Chen, Fang, Lin, Hou, and Cai, were also worshiped here in the temple. This is why there are now so many people of these six family names in Youchang area.
11. For the past three hundred years, this temple has been damaged and when the temple was rebuilt, believers donated stone carvings to express their sincere belief in General Xie. The present Yuanshuai Temple was rebuilt in 1948 and came out with the magnificent style and features.
12. On the left wall of the temple is a stele “Feng Shi Li Jin” proclaiming an order that nobody is allowed to rob or steal possessions from villagers, or he will be severely punished. There are also all kinds of relief fine arts or stone carvings in the temple. Any one of them will impress you very much.
13. Youchang Yuanshuai Temple In the middle of the temple is a incense burner. In the back yard are placed historic relics – old bell and stone blocks, which was used to make sugar from sugar canes in the past period.

Fude Temple (Earth God Temple) There are two Earth God Temples in Youchang area. “Sanjia Fude Temple” and the other is “Yijia Fude Temple.” (Fude is the name of Earth God) “Spring Worship & Autumn Repayment” is a traditional activity of agricultural society. Farmers generally think that Earth God dominates the land, and they will have a good harvest with his blessings.

28. Sanshan Temple The past Sanshan Temple Respected as“Wang Ye Gong”by the residents in this area. Because some soldiers for the sake of appeasing their emotion, a suggestion was done – to build San Shan Temple and the main god in the temple was of course from their hometown.
29. Sanshan Temple Sanshan Gods, which means three gods of mountains, allegedly refers to the three mountain gods in Jin Mt., Ming Mt., and Du Mt., Guang Dong Province.
