Principles of Successful Risk Management
1.
2. The regional manager of Paragon Systems, Inc,
Christian S. Pedoty also has an extensive background
in law enforcement. As a police chief in
Massachusetts, Chris Pedoty, oversaw its force, in
addition to working as a police officer and lieutenant
in New York City. During his time on the force,
Christian Pedoty developed his skills in risk assessment
and risk mitigation.
Although the two are closely related, risk mitigation,
which focuses on minimizing risk, is different than risk
assessment, which involves identifying possible areas
of risk before they become issues.
3. Assessment builds the foundation of the risk
management process, especially as it relates
to the organization’s objective. The first key for
success is identifying potential risks unique to
the organization’s industry and, beyond that,
specific to the particular business. The next is
establishing a clear communication and
support structure that will allow the risk
management team to react quickly and
eliminate future risk. Finally, while risk
management procedures should be defined
and understood, the key to creating lasting,
long-term successes is their flexibility in the face
of new information.
