1. Annual Survey on Behavioral Training Practices
in Indian Organizations: 2009
1
2. Significance Of Behavioral Training in the current
Environment
Studies show that up to 80% of a managers performance depends on skills like:
Decision-making, ,Assertiveness, Authenticity, Commitment to grow,
Concentration, Emotional stability, Enthusiasm, Judgment, Resourcefulness, Open-
mindedness, Optimism, Persistence, Self-control, Self-reliance, Initiative, Drive, Flexibility,
Resiliency .
These skills and their manifest behaviours are known as behavioural skills.
This survey is an effort to understand the cognizance of Indian Organizations to Behavioral
Training and its significance. Behavioral skills become even more important in periods of
low economic growth because the manager is being asked to do a lot more with a lot less.
In such an environment are Indian Organizations doing more or less? And How?

3. Foreword
The last 18 months have seen a great change in the way organizations develop their talent. The
fact that talent development through training and mentoring programs was not a casualty of the
economic crisis is just one of the findings of our Annual Survey on Behavioural Training
Practices in Indian Organizations, 2009.
A total of 144 organisations participated in the Survey. Small and medium-sized businesses as
well as major corporations across many different industries were represented on this distinguished
panel.
This is the first online survey to consult top leaders about current issues in talent management. On
request, we can conduct a no cost informational meeting that will help provide insights into the
current spectrum of opinions held by leading corporate decision-makers in India on Training
Practices.
You can request this meeting by calling us at +91-989-109-3999 or mailing us at
