Advent Bible Study: The Lay Ministry Committee will be
running bible discussion groups throughout the season of
Advent between the 8:00am and 10:00am services. This
congregationally-led discussion group will explore the Advent
Sunday scriptural readings following the Advent themes of
hope, love, joy and peace. All meetings will be held in the
Arthur Smith Room unless otherwise indicated on the Sunday

Remembrance Sunday

PromiseLand (church school for children, kindergarten to grade
9) meets in the Chapel of St. Nicholas on the lower level during
the 10 am service.
The Nest (certified childcare for infants to age 4) is open
during the Sunday 10 am service on the third floor.
Welcome to Christ Church Deer Park. We invite you to stay
for refreshments after the service at Holy Grounds Café in
Elliott Hall through the Chapel upstairs.

Free Sunday parking is available on Sunday mornings (up to
1:30 pm) at the public parking lot, just across from the church
on Heath Street. Stamp your parking ticket using the church
address stamp found on the table at the Bell tower door.
After Church go to the customer service office with your
validated ticket where you will be given an exit ticket. Please
park only on the lower levels.

Children & Youth Programs
The Nest is our childcare program for children under the
age of 4. The Nest opens prior to the 10:00 service in our
nursery space on the third floor. Tuta Shurdha is our
certified Nest coordinator, and she is accompanied by a
volunteer parent or teen assistant. If you would like to use
this service, please ask one of the sidespeople to direct
you to the Nest.
PromiseLand is our church school for children from the
ages of 5 to 12. The children meet in the church at 10:00
am, and then move to the St. Nicholas Chapel during the
opening hymn. Natalie Kemp is our Director of
Children’s Education, and would be happy to tell you
more about Promiseland.
YAL – Young Anglican Leaders meet regularly for
learning, fellowship, food and fun. Please speak with
Natalie Kemp for more details about YAL.

sponsoring a seminar next Saturday, Nov. 16th with the
Reverend Canon Dr. Gideon Byamugisha. Father Gideon is an
internationally recognized advocate for those living with
HIV/AIDS. He is co-founder of ANERELA+ - an organization for
HV+ religious leaders. The seminar takes place from 11:30am
till 2:00pm in Elliott Hall. For more details, please speak with

Challenging Christianity meets on Friday, November 15, from
12:00 noon to 1: 30 pm in the Arthur Smith Room to discuss,
"What is the Spirit saying to the churches?"
CCDP Contemplative Knitting Circle: We honour stillness,
beauty, skill & human labour. Please join us in the Arthur
Smith Gallery for a silent auction of our work from November
3rd – 22nd. All proceeds go to CCDP.
Parish Forum – November 3, 2013: A big thank you to all
presenters and parishioners for an energetic and informative
Parish Forum last Sunday. It was truly inspirational and a
testament to the engagement, commitment and
longstanding generosity of this parish. There sure is Life Here!

One of the many features of the annual Christmas Fair is the
ever-popular Bottle Game. We are now accepting donations
of wine, juice, olive oil, vinegar, etc. (valued at $5 or over) for
this table.
RAFFLE TICKETS – HAND MADE QUILT & OTHER PRIZES: Tickets for the
Raffle are $2/each or 3 for $5 and are available in Elliott Hall
this morning or from the Parish Office during the week. All
monies raised from the Raffle will be donated to our Outreach
ministries.
