the Community Centre. Plenty of parking is available in safe locations.

Remembering our Deceased
Parish candle in loving memory
As we pray for and remember our deceased during November a special candle will be
available after all Masses. You can take one after Mass and light it at the grave of
your deceased or in your home and pray for their souls.Please remember to be
careful with a lit candle.
Parish Envelopes
The Parish Envelopes will be distributed this week. Thank you to Maura and Johnnie
McMorland who co-ordinate this project and to all our distributors in each area.
Please use your parish Envelope during the year. We produce over 1,200 envelops to
cover the Carraroe Parish and on average about 300 are returned per week. Now is
the time to make a commitment. Each box contains the yearly supply of envelopes
which includes special collections.
Parish Calendar
Due to printing difficulties the Parish Calendar for 2019 will not be distributed with
the envelopes. The calendar should now be available on the first weekend of Advent.
We will keep you informed of our progress.
St. Johns GAA
This Sunday 25th Nov is an important day to finish our year. Please support.
1. Club Mass at 11.30am in Carraroe with presentation of medals to u14 boys and
girls after in hall with Tea and coffee.
2.Underage and Senior AGM at 7pm in the SligoPark Hotel. Can a representative
from each family please attend. While Strong committees are in place for the year
ahead, we always need help.
Alive Magazine
Copies of the Alive Magazine are available at the back and side door of our Church.
This month it reflects on the question of transferring Catholic schools to the state,
Sports stars discuss their love for the Catholic faith and what couples need to ask
before marrying.
2. St. John's FC
(underage) Annual Christmas Turkey Trot 2018 Sunday 2nd December @ 2:30pm.
Starting and finishing at Doorly Park playground, Riverside, Sligo. Christmas raffle
and refreshments afterwards in The Blue Lagoon. Please support.
Camino de Santiago pilgrimage
Dates: 23rd – 30th June 2019,Age Group: 18 – 35, Cost €650. Package includes
flights, 7 nights’ B&B. Walking Details: A minimum of 100km walk is required to
obtain the “Compostela“, the official accreditation of the pilgrimage of St. James.
This year we will walk the Celtic Camino, which includes an Irish and Spanish

Data Protection

If you are involved in any of our Parish Ministries and you have not yet signed a Data
Protection form, please call into the Sacristy after any Mass.
Vetting for Eucharistic Minsters
All our Parish Eucharistic Minsters have filled in the Vetting form and they have been
sent to the Vetting office in Galway. As part of the process you will receive an
invitation from this office by email to fill in a further form and complete the process.
Please watch your emails in the coming weeks.
Please Note -For Your Diary
Mass on Saturday evening, 8th December has been changed to 7pm to facilitate the
blessing of the Christmas tree at the Community Centre followed by tea/coffee in the
Community Centre, organised by CADRA. This is an opportunity for the community
of Carraroe to come together for a evening of prayer and socialisation in preparation
for Christmas.
Sligo Social Services
Sligo Social Services are holding an Up-cycle Fashion Show in the Clayton Hotel on
Thursday November 29th. The doors open at 6pm with crafts for sale and local
makeup artist giving a display. Show starts at 7pm – please come along and support
this excellent event. The tickets cost just €10 and are available by calling 0719145682
or in our Thrift Shop on Harmony Hill.
Parish Readers
The new listof readers is currently being distributed in our Parish. Please note your
time and thank you for your support.
Altar List for Our Deceased
This month of November is a sacred time to remember our deceased. The Altar
listof the dead allows us to recall our deceased by name and place their names on
the sacred Altar where they are remembered in the Eucharist. You still have time to
remember our deceased.
Community Centre
The Community Centre is now free on Thursday evening from 8pm onwards due to a
cancellation. Please contact the Parish Office is you are interesting in using the Hall.
Sean Nos Dancing
Classes by All -Ireland Champion Dancer Ryan Sheridan in Carraroe Community

Carraroe Parish Choirs
The Parish Choir continues rehearsal on Mondays at 8pm in the Church. If you can
sing and would like to be part of a community Choir, please come along. More men
are needed. Also, the Folk Choir meets on Sunday at 11.00am.
Sligo Meals on Wheels Service
Can be ordered from 1 to 7 days per week for people of any age who need a little
support.We rely on our volunteer drivers to deliver meals and let us know if someone
if not well.Volunteer Drivers to deliver Meals 1 ½ hours one day a week, please

Tobernalt Holy Well
Please keep the grounds at the Holy Well clean and tidy for all visitors. Items such
as statues, religious signs or rosary beads etc should not be left at the Holy Well.
Flowers should be placed at the main Altar. Your support and help ensures that
the grounds are clean for everyone.

Bereaved
We remember in our prayer Cormac Carty, Strandhill Road father of
Stephen Carty, Tonaphubble, Sligowhose funeral took place on Monday in
Ransboro. May he and all our deceased restin peace.
St Cecilia
Last we celebrated the feast of St. Cecilia, the patron of music and musicians. Some
members of our school sang and played at the Mass on Thursday to honour and
celebrate the Saint. Through the intercession of St. Cecilia let us give thanks for all
who help with our Choirs and music in our parish through the year.
