Celebration ofVolunteerism in our Churches
An Ecumenical Celebration ofChurch Volunteerism in the Sligo area will take
place in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Thursday 26 October
at 7.30 pm. The Service seeks to embrace Volunteers from all eight Churches
from the Cluster, from the four Church of Ireland Churches, from the
Methodist,Presbyterian and Redeemed Churches and will include all our
friends of other nationalities who reside here.All who volunteer in any way
with Church are invited, and a Reception will be held in the Presbyterian Hall

Mary and Mercy Tour
Experience the Time ofMercy! Fr. Michael Gaitley, MIC will speak in the
North West region on Monday October 9th, Basilica ofOur Lady of Knock
Shrine, Co. Mayo at 7:00pm. Fr. Michael is an American author and regular
speaker on EWTN and is touring Ireland in preparation for the 33 Day
Consecration to Mary. The night will include two talks: Personal Testimony:

Divine Mercy Novena
Eternal Father, I offer you the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of
Your Dearly Beloved Son, Our Lord, Jesus Christ, in atonement for our
sins and those of the whole world. The Divine Mercy Novena takes place every

Life in the Spirit Seminar
A Life in the Spirit Seminar will begin in the Community Centre on Friday
6th October for eight weeks beginning at 8.00pm. All are welcome. The
seminar contains, music, talks and discussion. Booklet on the prayers and

The shrine to the Holy family is a sacred place to reflectand prepare for
the World Meeting ofFamilies next year. Come along, light a candle and
say a prayer.

We are still looking for a suitable person in the Parish Community to take
on the job of Parish Sacristan. The job involves a fewhours around Mass
times, helping to set up and tidy up the Altar and generally preparing the
Church and Sacristy for Mass. Contact Fr Jim for more information.
