The LPC Clearing house for full time LPC – www.lawcabs.ac.uk First round closes 1 December Part-time and distance learning options available but some full time courses are taught over 2 days Teaching styles vary Course size varies but all do small group teaching Some do bespoke courses for big firms but where you study won’t affect your training contract applications Electives may affect training contract applications THINK what you most need – more work experience, careers help, chance to meet a particular type of law firm, location near home, low cost, certain teaching style and find the course that’s best for you CoL guaranteed place scheme Apply early if you are SURE

The BPTC Clearing house – opens 18 Oct – closed 7 Jan last year https://www.barprofessionaltraining.org.uk/s4/oa/candidates/start.asp Full and part-time options Challenging application form and a fee Need debating, mooting or other advocacy experience Around 50% of applications unsuccessful No need to do entry test this year (except for Kaplan?) but may be invited to do so Chambers will require 1st or 2.1 (mitigation?)
