 15 minutes to present to panel of judges
with 5 min. Q&A

 Create and execute effective sales presentation
 You get the sales scenario weeks before the event
 Buyer-Seller role play with panel of judges
 Your goal is to get the order!

Job Interview (1 student)
 Interview for an entry-level marketing position
 Prepare and send Cover Letter & Resume
2 weeks prior to the event
 20 minute interview with panel of judges

 Game show format
 Each team consists of 4 students
 Moderator reads question
 Hit buzzer as soon as you know answer

How Do I Apply?
 It’s easy!
 Go to https://ocmc2017tryouts.eventbrite.ca
 Must include a Faculty recommendation
 Deadline: Monday April 10th

What Happens Next?
Applications are reviewed and students are selected
based on various factors including:
 Experience
 Faculty sponsor remarks
 If selected, you will be required to attend the
“OCMC Tryouts” on Wednesday April 26th

Tryouts
When: Wednesday April 26th (time TBD)
Where: HMC
 Each student presented with mini case study
 20 minute prep, 5 minutes delivery, 5 minutes Q&A
 Present to a panel of faculty judges
 Selection based on content knowledge, presentation skills
and effectiveness during Q&A

Quiz Bowl Tryouts
 After the Case Competition tryouts, the student
moves to the Quiz Bowl tryouts
 Student is asked (5) Marketing 1 level questions
 Selection committee evaluates students and
determines possible Quiz Bowl Team candidates

Who Qualifies?
 Full-time diploma marketing or advertising
student in at least Semester 3 by Fall 2017
 Should have a B or greater GPA in
marketing/advertising related courses
 Train 3 hours per week in Fall 2017 semester
 Able to attend OCMC Tryouts on April 26th and
OCMC Event November 16-18 in Ottawa
