BLACK LAW STUDENT'S
ASSOCIATION OF CANADA
A non-profit organization was planning their annual conference
in Montreal for their membership nationwide. The President of
the Association had many responsibilities in addition to a full-
time job, and needed assistance coordinating the conference.
The association hired Ruby Bloom to handle the registration
process and keep their members and speakers up-to-date.
Ruby Bloom:
• mailed fundraising letter and tracked responses
• prepared all registration forms, follow up confirmations
and correspondence
• copyedited and mailed speaker invitations
• requested and tracked speaker presentations and
biographies
• coordinated sponsorship ads into the event booklet
• managed the attendee responses with regular follow up
• managed the rooming list and kept the hotel up-to-date
• coordinated flights and transportation to special activities
• printed and distributed nametags, schedule of events and
conference binder of materials
Ruby Bloom' also sourced gift options for the speakers as
additional thanks for their contribution. The gifts were engraved
with the organization's logo, presented at the gala dinner and
very well received.

SPONSORSHIP & ADVERTISING COORDINATION
The founder of Our Image Greeting Cards Inc. and
Executive Producer of the Power of Expression Art
Auction. She was committed to making black artwork
accessible in all forms - from greeting cards to canvas
- and was launching her 5th annual event at The
Liberty Grand. Every year she strived to create an
even more impressive event and recruited other
professionals to help generate interest and sponsors
for the event. She hired Ruby Bloom to create the
sponsorship materials.
We reviewed some of the artists work for inspiration
and interviewed Jacqueline to get a sense of what the
ad rate card should include. We transferred some
content from her other marketing materials to
describe the event and created a profile of attendees
to educate potential sponsors.
Ruby Bloom created a piece that provided function
with the rates and contact info clearly listed;
education for those unaware of the event; a
showcase of one of the artist's work and beauty in
it's layout and simplicity. Printing the cards on 8 1/2
x 11, full-colour card stock was an eye-catching
leave-behind for potential sponsors.
