4. CLASSIFYING
Hold up red object and
ask the children to find
the things that are the
same color. Ask the
children the color.
Then ask them to find
the things that are not
red.
6. SHAPE
Have the children reach
into the shape feeling
box and tell you what
shape they feel. Then,
have them pull it out and
see if they are correct.
7. SPACE
Have the children do the
actions as you say this
finger play rhyme.
Up and down (move hands up and
down), round and round (draw
circles in the air), put your fingers on
the ground. Over (hold hands above
lap) under, (below legs) in between
(you've hidden your hands in
between your legs) Now my fingers
can't be seen! Hands in front, hands
behind, now my hands I cannot
find.
Here's my left hand, here's my
right,
Hands and fingers back in sight
(wriggle fingers).
10. MEASUREMENTS
Have the children use the cup, ½
cup, table spoon, and ½
tablespoon to measure water in
one bowl to another. Or, just let
them play with the amounts.
11. GRAPHING
Ask the children their favorite
color and then have them build a
graph using Unifix ® cubes built
on the results.
