5. Understand the applications of Databases
6. Know the advantages and disadvantages of the different models
7. Compare relational model with the Structured Query Language (SQL)
8. Know the constraints and controversies associated with relational database model.
9. Know the rules guiding transaction ACID
10. Identify the major types of relational management systems
11. Compare and contrast the types of RDBMS based on several criteria
12. Understand the concept of data planning and Database design
13. Know the steps in the development of Databases
14. Trace the history and development process of SQL
15. Know the scope and extension of SQL
16. Identify the various functions of Database Administrator

JUSTIFICATION
PO1-CO1
Student get strong basic knowledge of database system, students could classify
different data models, Database abstraction, levels of database.
Students gain basic knowledge in E-R modelling
PO2-CO1 Students could identify functionalities of DBMS
PO3-CO1
Knowledge in architecture of DBMS help students to clearly understand the
functionalities of DBMS.
Students acquire competency in building E-R models of database.
PO9-CO1 Student can communicate DBMS knowledge
PO10-CO1
This knowledge will help the students in his / her career even if technologies are
changed.
JUSTIFICATION
PO1-CO2
The student becomes able to design a database and include tables in it for data
storage. Students will be able to classify different SQL queries.
The student is able to understand the basics of database design and its core principles
and apply them for application software development.
PO2- CO2 Students will be able to identify formal query languages in database.
Students will be able to understand the formulation and working of SQL queries
Understanding of the working of different SQL queries is required in interacting with
database
PO3-CO2 The student can design the structure of the tables based on the given problem.
PO4-CO2
The student becomes well versed in using Oracle for designing database solutions.
Students will be able to identify oracle database structure

This knowledge will help the students in his / her career even if technologies are

Students will be able to classify different indexing schemes used in retrieval, able to
use build in functions, and views.
PO2-CO3 Students will be able use functions in sql.
PO3-CO3 Student can design index, synonyms, view as per query
PO4-CO3 The student becomes well versed in using Oracle for creating views and functions.

This knowledge will help the students in his / her career even if technologies are
changed.

The student is able to apply the procedural Language concepts in database design and
implementation using PL/SQL.
The studentcan use the conceptsof triggersandcursors and solve complexdatabase
problems.

The student is able to analyze a given data manipulation problem using procedural
language concepts of SQL

Students gain competency in PL/SQL programming.
The student can solve a data processing problem and easily handle errors using
PL/SQL constructs.

JUSTIFICATION PO1-CO1 Student get strong basic knowledge of database system, students could classify different data models, Database abstraction, levels of database. Students gain basic knowledge in E-R modelling PO2-CO1 Students could identify functionalities of DBMS PO3-CO1 Knowledge in architecture of DBMS help students to clearly understand the functionalities of DBMS. Students acquire competency in building E-R models of database. PO9-CO1 Student can communicate DBMS knowledge PO10-CO1 This knowledge will help the students in his / her career even if technologies are changed. JUSTIFICATION PO1-CO2 The student becomes able to design a database and include tables in it for data storage. Students will be able to classify different SQL queries.
