3. Primary Goals of the Chinmaya Vijaya
Orphanage
The primary mission of the Chinmaya Vijaya Orphanage is to look after 160 girls
between the ages of 4 and 11. Girls raised in the orphanage, which replicates
a reliable family home setting, learn about social respect and cultural values as
Chinmaya Vijaya shapes the children into thoughtful, engaged citizens. In
addition to providing a comfortable and supportive living environment for the
girls, the orphanage staff fosters strong bonds between the children themselves
in order to better recreate a safe, familial childhood home. Beyond
encouraging relationships and offering a welcoming living space, the
orphanage works in areas of health and wellness, education, recreation, and
morals and values. Girls who come under the care of the orphanage remain
with Chinmaya Vijaya until they graduate, find a job, or marry.
