Bharti Airtel Limited, a part of Bharti Enterprises, is India's
leading provider of telecommunications services. Bharti
Airtel, formerly known as Bharti Tele-Ventures Limited
(BTVL) is India's largest Telecom Business operator with
more than 75 million subscribers It also offers fixed line
services and broadband services. It offers its TELECOM
services under the Airtel brand and is headed by Sunil
Mittal. The company also provides telephone services and
Internet access over DSL in 14 circles. The company
complements its mobile, broadband & telephone services
with national and international long distance services. The
company also has a submarine cable landing station at
Chennai, which connects the submarine cable connecting
Chennai and Singapore.
SR. NO. CS TRAFFIC VALUE DESCRIPTION
1. 0 TO 1.5 ERLANG LESS TRAFFIC
2. 1.5 TO 13 ERLANG MODERATE TRAFFIC
3. 13 + ERLANG HEAVY TRAFFIC
• THERE ARE 2 TYPES OF CUSTOMER
1.HVS (HIGH VALUE SUBSCRIBER)
2.NON-HVS (NON- HIGH VALUE SUBSCRIBER)
• HVS COMPLAINTS ARE AT PRIORITY 1.
• NON-HVS COMPLAINTS ARE AT PRIORITY 2.
1. COLLECTION OF DATA.
2. CREATION OF TABS.
3. PLOTING OF TABS ON MAPINFO.
4. CREATION OF THEMATIC OF EACH TABLE.
5. SELECTION OF SITES TO BE OPTIMISED
ACCORDINGLY.
6. PLANNING TEAM MAKES ACTION
ACCORDINGLY.
• List of complaints of High Value Subscriber and
Non- High Value Subscribers in detail.
• List BBH (bouncing busy hour) reports on daily
basis.
• Latest Site data.
• Latest Carrier data.
• Latest Neighbour data.
• Latest RNC Boundaries.
• Latest Vector.
• List of new sites.
• TABS ARE CREATING BY USING
A. MS EXCEL
B. MCOM
• SITE DATA IS PLOTTED ON MAPINFO.
• THEMATIC IS CREATED.
• Database Parameters Changes
• Antenna Optimization
• Frequency changes
• Neighbor addition and deletion
• Formation of new location areas
• Addition of new cell sites
• Many problems can be solved by changing
some database parameters.
• Some of the common changes are
A. Handover parameters and thresholds
B. Maximum transmit power of BTS
C. Paging parameters
D. SDCCH Parameters
• This includes changing of antenna tilts,
orientations, positions.
• Sometimes the antenna may also be changed.
A. Antenna azimuth is wrong.
B. Antenna is connected in a
reverse way.
• Frequency changes help us to control the
interference in the network.
• However one should be careful when doing
changes so that this changes do not affect the
other sites adversely.
• If there are a lot of changes it is advisable to
change the whole frequency plan.
• A careful study of cell coverage area and
server area helps in making those changes.
• Many problems arise due to wrong neighbor
definitions or missing neighbors.
• Neighbor definitions must be reviewed on a
regular basis. Statistics and drive tests provide
good inputs for this purpose.
• Sometimes to solve coverage hole problems
we need to add more site (normally micro or
pico cells)
