2. FILM TRAILER?
Trailers consist of a series of selected shots that
relate to the film being advertised.
Since the purpose of the trailer is to attract an
audience to the film, these excerpts are usually
drawn from the most exciting, funny, or otherwise
noteworthy parts of the film but in abbreviated form.
The scenes are not necessarily in the order in which
they appear in the film. A trailer has to achieve that
in less than two and a half minutes.
3. TASK

Use the iMovie Trailer template to create your trailer.

In your trailer include: title, genre, director and year of production.

4. CODES AND CONVENTIONS
Montage is a technique in film editing in which a series of
short shots are edited into a sequence to condense space,
time, and information.
Voice-over narration is used to briefly set up the premise of
the movie and provide explanation when necessary.
Music helps set the tone and mood of the trailer. Usually the
music used in the trailer is not from the film itself- Clint
Mansell’s music is often used in trailers.
A variety of shot types and angles- make sure your shots and
angles are not all the same.
