The document discusses the opportunities and challenges of living and leading in today's digital age of constant connectivity. It notes how technology has evolved rapidly over time and is now ubiquitous, allowing constant access through mobile devices. While this connectivity enables engagement, innovation and social change, it can also promote isolation, inequality and privacy issues if not approached mindfully. The document advocates developing strategies like focus, filtering and forgetting to consciously harness technology's benefits while maintaining awareness and balance in our lives. It raises questions about how to use technology wisely as leaders to improve communities in Vermont.

Losing mindfulness
Technology is a great enabler of connectivity and creativity. But it can also disrupt our relationships and our ability to get work done, or to access the ideas that are inside of us. If our minds aren’t focused, we wont communicate as well.
We need to adopt strategies that allow us to be conscious, creative and aware of technologies, where we decide the limitsIncreasingly, our success as leaders will be determined by how able we are to harness technology to be effective, For that, we need mental space, which is the foundation for engagement and creativity, McKinsey and Company suggests a simple but effective strategy to get out of information overload, and it involves focus (carve out chunks of time), filtering (delegating tasks and not reading every single email applied to you) and forgetting (gettting outside to clear your head)
What matters is not that these technologies exist, but how we use them.
