James and John ask Jesus to sit at his right and left in glory. Jesus tells them they do not know what they are asking, and that positions of power are not for him to grant. When the other disciples are indignant with James and John, Jesus teaches that leadership requires being a servant to all. True leadership means following Jesus' example of sacrificial service over positions of power and authority.
