The Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of
Emergency Situations, 112 Call Center and Chief
Department of Early Warning of Emergency Situations
is responsible for Early Warning activities and The
Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources is
responsible for hydro- meteorological observations,
prognosis and warnings.

The local population is informed by the local media (e.g. radio
stations, TV stations, newspapers and the internet). Local media
is used not only to alert the population of hazards, but also to
pass on recommendations of conduct, which should be followed
in case of hazards.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations organizes workshops,

the fields of prevention, preparedness and response to

the public and special audiovisual materials are broadcasted by
the mass media

The use of crowd sourced data is gaining traction with increasing
Internet connectivity and use of information and communication
technologies (ICTs) such as mobile phones .Crowd sourcing was
used extensively in the response to the 2010 Haiti earthquake,
allowing local people, mapping experts and other stakeholders to
communicate what they saw and heard on the ground, and to
produce information that could be used by humanitarian
workers. This was particularly useful in locating survivors who
needed assistance, but it is increasingly recognized That crowd
sourcing could also help with pre-disaster activities, specifically
risk identification and early warning
