This is the abstract of my M.Tech thesis submitted as part of my final semester for award of my Master's degree with thesis. This highlights my research work in the area of multi agent system project implementation in real projects, case studies and a general project package as a reference framework used as a canonical model.

2. ABSTRACT
Increased research activities in AI technologies, has led to enormous amount of
processes, theories and tools being published. However, many are complex to interpret,
use and deliver them as real projects, especially the multi agent system (MAS).
Successful delivery of IT projects is a growing concern among many IT vendors. Despite
the availability of the right resources and budget still many IT projects overrun their
stipulated time and budget. It has been estimated that on an average 80% of the projects
encounter some type of issue either in terms of time overrun, project budget overrun or
reduced success rate.
Previous works in this area are limited and have more focus on fundamental research
areas. Either the focus was towards a specific research title or for a specific client project.
Even though there are standards and frameworks, they are not many projects in
production that shows that there is some gap between theory and project work. I have
used earlier works in this area and have an elaborate references section. Few are
highlighted at the end of this abstract section.
This dissertation focuses on ways to assess the pitfalls faced in Artificial Intelligence (AI)
based project implementation in general and more specific to multi agent system, their
remedies and the right mix of the solution to deliver the IT project on time and within
budget. Applied research being my focus, I have tried to provide insights of concepts,
processes, methodologies and tools for MAS projects in simple way along with case
studies, tools, project modules, MAS architecture package and executable code in Java.
This research produced a number of key findings with a holistic project package and
solution along with various tools, software modules, building blocks, data structure and
actual code executed with results, making it easy for users to start their project journey.
Various tool features are compared against key metrics enabling apple-to-apple
comparison. Relevant case studies, examples and a global solution to address the
common problems in MAS project implementation are illustrated
My findings can help companies that seek to start using MAS in their project work.
Contributions from this study can help IT vendors enhance their capabilities by leveraging
the clear, concise and precise details on multi agent system, key facts and figures related
to project development, reusable content and references.
