3. INTRODUCTION
Our project is inspired from the LEGO
industry.
It is an amalgamation of three concepts
namely
(i) Pick and place,
(ii) Line follower,
(iii) Shape detection.

Automation is the need of the hour for
fast and efficient work.
Our project can replace two different
portions with one and make the
process compact and time saving.
6. LINE FOLLOWER
As the name suggests, this concept
deals with the robot following a path.
There are two kinds of path namely
(i) visible path
(a) black path on white surface
(b) white path on a black surface
(ii) invisible path e.g. magnetic field.
10. PICK AND PLACE
Microcontroller based mechatronic
system that detects the object, picks
that object from source location and
places at desired location.
Pick and place robot speeds up the
process of picking parts up and placing
them on new locations, while also
increasing production rates.
13. D.C. MOTOR
• 7 DC motors present.
• 3 motors each for circular,
up/down and
open/close motions.
• 4 motors each for the 4
wheels of the robot.
• All motors work on 12 volt
supply.
14. Gear Box
• Has a spindle and
axle mechanism.
• One of the the 3 DC
motors used in it.
15. Gripper
• Used for gripping
and releasing
objects from the
source to the
destination.
• One of the 3 DC
motors used.
16. Supporting arms
• Made up of thin,
durable and effective
ply wood.
• Connected with the
gear box and the
gripper.
• Moves IN and OUT
resulting in the
Up/Down motion of
the arm.
18. SHAPE DETECTOR
Shape detection can be done using
many methods.
Proximity sensor and Image processing
are the most commonly used method
of doing shape detection but we are
going to use IR sensors for shape
detection.
26. CONCLUSION
This project can bring a revolution in
the automation section of the
industries as it will concise the process
and give it the advantages like speeding
the process, increasing the accuracy
and reducing manual error.
