RISK IMPROVEMENTS
The risk improvement recommendations are offered to assist the management in meeting their objectives of loss
reduction and control, and to improve the risk management activities of the company based on our findings.
The improvements are divided into 'Requirement' and 'Recommendation' based on the following consideration:
Requirement : Improvements to correct conditions that are serious enough to affect the overall
performance of the premises or that present an immediate potential for a loss.
This must complete within stipulated time scales
Recommendation : Improvements that would enhance the risk management activities of the premises
Rec. No: Areas Covered:
2010 - IS - 001 Suitable Protective for Spray Painting
Painting finishing process is conducted following the metal case manufacturing. The
painting process is conducted not separated from other production and it is noted with a
minimum protections. Materials and supplies used in organic spray process are usually
flammable or combustible,
For these reasons, spray process are considered hazardous and suitable preventive and
protective measures should be taken to minimize the hazards.
It is recommended :
The electrical appliances should be of flammable/explosion proof types
Flammable and highly flammable liquids must be stored in suitable closed vessels
within a fire – resisting cupboard or bin. All such containers, cupboards or bins must
be clearly marked ‘FLAMMABLE’ or ‘HIGHLY FLAMMABLE’ as appropriate.
Quantities of flammable and highly flammable liquids in the work area must be kept
to the minimum practicable and, in any case, not to exceed the requirements for the
day or shift being worked. Materials not actually in use must be kept in suitable
closed containers. Those not used by the end of the working day must be returned
to the main store.
There must be no source of ignition in areas where flammable or highly flammable
liquids are used or stored. Smoking must be prohibited and ‘NO SMOKING’ notices
prominently displayed in and at the entrance to these areas. Action must be taken to
ensure compliance with this instruction.
Plant and equipment handling flammable liquids must be properly bonded and
electrically earthed.
Adequate ventilation must be provided by natural or mechanical means to avoid the
concentration of vapour in explosive concentrations.
