Nowadays, with the development of society, more and more Vietnamese youngsters think rich, grow rich and
dream about building up their own businesses for their future - who “dare to think, dare to do”. Capturing that
tendency, we, the Group of Potential Administrators (GPA) from University of Economics and Law (UEL)
organized the “Business Start-up” contest. Via this contest, we will search for students‟ unique business ideas
in order to provide them opportunities to perform their skills and through this, we also connect you and your
company with potential students.
"Business Start - up" has becoming a huge academic playground for Economics students, Universities and
Colleges in Ho Chi Minh City. In recent years, the competition has attracted more than 4000 enthusiastic
participation and gained a foothold in the hearts of more than 8000 students who has a passion for
entrepreneurship. The competition has brought many valued lessons, experience and left a good impression
on many students for 4 years. Following the success achieved from organizing 3 previous contests, the 4th
"Business Start-up" promises to have high quality and widespread influence.

4. OVERVIEW
THE 1ST „BUSSINESS START-UP‟ CONTEST- 2011
• Our society today has been developing so fast with higher educated labor and young
enthusiastic generation who are eager for their own businesses. University students are
among those people. They have lots of unique and creative ideas, but most of them do not
dare to realize the ideas due to lack of experience and capital.
• Basically aiming at creating an useful game show so as to support students to pursue their
business ideas, GPA club, from UEL, organized the 1st “Business Start-up” contest for
students from Vietnamese National Universities in Ho Chi Minh City (VNU). The contest has
gained big reputation with 2000 students attendance, 120 unique ideas and 15000 views on
our website. This is the playground where students could improve their skills, knowledge
and helped themselves to have fully confident on the way to their future businesses.

• Acquiring many valuable experiences from the 1st contest, the 2nd “Business Start-
up” contest was expanded to other economics and business schools in Ho Chi Minh
City such as University of Economics (UEH), University of Banking (UB), and Foreign
Trade University II (FTU).
• The competition had attracted over 700 students to join, 54 creative business ideas,
more than 2000 students taking part in others marginal programs. Moreover, it also
gained honorable reputation which impulses the improvement of our club and widens
the scale of “Business Start-up” in the coming years.
6. THE 3RD „BUSSINESS START-UP‟ CONTEST- 2014
• Based on the success gained from organizing 2 times before, the 3rd “Business Start-up”
expanded with the city-level marketing. Our key units are Ho Chi Minh City National University, Ho
Chi Minh City University of Economics, Foreign Trade University II, Banking University; in addition,
the 3rd “Business Start-up” also extended to universities and colleges in the area of HCM City
such as University of Finance - Marketing, University of Industry, Industrial and Commercial
College.
• Over 550 projects (nearly 1600 students) was sent to us. Besides, the contest also attracted more
than 2,000 students participated in the side event. In doing this, the contest has been completing in
organising management and marketing, focus more on professionalism and the feasibility of the
idea. In order to creating the best conditions for candidates, GPA club also organized training
sessions about business, not only provide the necessary knowledge for a business project but also
share interesting experiences from entrepreneurs who has succeeded in their business.

• Based on the success achieved 3 times previously, the 4th “Business Start-up” „s
key units are the National University of Ho Chi Minh City, Economics University
and College such as the University of Economics, University of Foreign Trade
facility II, Banking University, University of Finance - Marketing, Industrial
University of Ho Chi Minh City, Industrial and Commercial College; and expanding
to other fields: Ho Chi Minh City Open University, Saigon University, Ton Duc
Thang University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education,
College of Foreign Economic Relations, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology

• The competition focuses on professional quality, feasibility and application of the
project which will attracts participations from many students. With our continuous
efforts, the University of Economics and Law hopes the 4th "Business Start-up"
contest will spread more widely, attract dynamic and creative students who dare to
