One does not have to profess to be a Christian to get the impact of this message. For whatever
else Jesus is for others, who he was, who He is and will continue to be for many of us, our
saviour who came to seek the lost sheep and avail us knowledge and the possibility of our
salvation. The impact that Jesusâ message of salvation has made on the world has changed and
saved millions of those who have faith and believe in Him.
But as Christians it is sad to know that in spite of the widespread knowledge of all what He did
to save us, it has not sufficiently inspired many other millions who either halfheartedly believe
or even those who do not believe what Jesus Christ offers to all of mankind. I am a Christian
and believe He is God incarnate and that His impact is on several fronts in life. Pastor Polka
Harris states , âIt is easy for one to be called a Christian, and easy to believe that he or she is
living a good Christian life; but it is hardâsometimes intolerably hardâto act as Christians⊠as
taught to us by Jesus Christ. It is not our false commercialismthat prevents it, but our false
spirituality⊠not the love for one another, but love for oneself that takes paramount
precedence in our livingâ.
Most times we allow ourselves to be inspired by a good writer, a popular actor, an athlete or a
multitude of others⊠but most in todayâs society remain uninspired in Jesus Christ⊠Simply
being called a Christian is easy âŠbut âliving itâ is the difficult partâŠ. Although some wrongful
teaches may say otherwise, but Christianity is not a soft religion, but a tough faith to live and
act on. We need to reach beyond our capacity by using oneâs awareness of God as the foothold
and be inspired through this knowledgeâŠ
We can be inspired through the bible. When Jesus disciples inquired of the greatest
commandment: 37 Jesus replied: ââLove the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your
soul and with all your mind.â 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second
is like it: âLove your neighbor as yourself.â 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two
commandments.âAll this teaching based on love is taught to us by Jesus because He desires us
to have a common good among all of us so that we can live a good life. We need His inspiration
because of this reason.
But instead of common good and love for one another, at any given time all we see is a culture
of constant conflictâŠnot constant love as required from us by God; We forget that through
dabbling in sin and its sinfulness, everyone is a victimâŠNO WINNERS, but all being losers!. Gone
are the habits we once admired but is now replaced with a multitude of evil such as Cyber
crime, pornography and many other evil options that are freely available as one may desire. All
of us know what is happening around the world but prefer to do nothing about it because the
tendency is to say âhow can I change the worldâ and take the easy way out, But instead of
saying this we as Christians have a God given mandateâŠbe defermentâŠdo not conform as the
2. world does but as a Child of God! We can learn through Romans 12:2, âDo not conform to the
pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able
to test and approve what Godâs will isâhis good, pleasing and perfect willâ. Therefore we need
to seek Him, find Him, look up to Him and constantly be inspired by Him!
We must know that Jesus calls us to make a difference in our lives and in the society we live in.
Why do we have to be deferment? The bible tells us in 1 Corinthians 11:19, âNo doubt there
have to be differences among you to show which of you have Godâs approvalâ. What deference
can we make if we all remain the sameâŠall do it and why not me attitude! But as Christians we
are required to be different and always to the best for others as we would for ourselves! We
can even begin to make a deference simply by offering a kind smile at someone today. That
person may be deluged with untold problems in his life that we may never knowâŠbut God
knows. The reason why he tells us: âAnd the second is like it: âLove your neighbor as yourselfâ.
We need to be inspired by Jesus Christ. We need to learn to build bridges instead of walls. Love
instead of hate.
We must also know that Jesus impacts us spiritually. The bottom line of being a good Christian
is to reach a spiritually change in our hearts by being inspired through Jesus ChristâŠa new life
and a new beginning. We can learn again through the most quoted verse in the Bible with good
reason in John 3:16. âFor God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that
whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.â We are offered a spiritual
impact through the divine love of God that reaches down to us, lasting for eternity, to all who
believe and accept His love. Therefore instead of waiting for Christmas to come, we should
constantly remind ourselves of why He came⊠not only to save me but also for all others in
need. It truly is a birth that inspires⊠because âeven after billions of births, one still truly
inspires us!â
