The document discusses plans to develop a Personal Health Record (PHR) platform in Finland. It will allow citizens to enter their own health data and access it with consent on apps. The national social services agency Kela is building the PHR data management platform. Third parties can develop apps that use the data. The first phase of the PHR is planned to be ready by late 2017. It will use HL7 FHIR standards and integrate with existing national eHealth services.

2. PHR = Personal Health Record
 At the moment, Kanta services store health data entered by
healthcare professionals.
 Personal Health Record will enable citizens to enter their own
health-related data.
 Kela builds the PHR data management platform
 Third parties will develop services which produce, store and analyze the
data
 Nationally and regionally coordinated projects are already
developing self care solutions.
 Vision of one future service, ODA, is on the next slide.
 Virtual Hospital (Virtuaalisairaala) is another publicly sponsored big project.
 Health and social care professionals will be able to access
the data with citizen’s consent.
 First phase ready by end of 2017.
