3.  Piezoelectric effect as originally observed by curie
brothers in 1880
 Originated from the Greek word “piezenin”, meaning,
to press
 We can use the principle of piezoelectricity to harvest
energy from pressure points.
 Piezoelectric materials have the ability to generate an
electric potential in response to mechanical stress.

4.  The piezoelectric effect refers to a change in
electric polarization.
 Types:

5. Energy gathered by piezoelectric materials must be
stored.
 Disadvantage of Batteries:-
1.limited lifetime
2.physical dimension
 So , for this purpose piezoelectricity is more
acceptable than battery

9.  An idea is being researched in DARPA in united
states in a project called energy harvesting.
 It is used in battlefield ,these energy harvesting
source by association have an impact on the body.
 An additional energy expended by a person
wearing the shoes.

 An electrical charge is developed on its side, this
charge is proportional to force applied on crystal.
