Personal statement
I’m a conscientious and professional person with experience in handling responsibility within previous
job roles. I’m a very organised and efficient individual, which has been noticed by others, having been
promoted in a previous position prior to starting my cadetship. I am currently seeking employment as
Deckhand, later I will be seeking employment as OOW on completion of my MCA orals in late 2015. I
feel that I would make a great addition to a vessels crew as Deckhand or OOW.

Hobbies & Interests
I am a keen fisherman and relish any chance I get to go coarse fishing. I have previously volunteered
for a year at a local youth centre as an Events Organiser. A group of friends and I approached the
local youth centre after noticing that there was not a great deal of things to do in the local area for
teenagers, such as ourselves. With the help of the youth centre we achieved funding through a grant,
which enabled us to put on a series of monthly music events, hiring a wide range of performers.
Unfortunately, funding issues arose which prevented further events.
