2. glass ceramic - decoran® or structuran®
Glass ceramic has a unique, translucent optical quality that shows its crystal-like brilliance when lit up. When polished, glass
ceramic emits a radiant shimmer, and when left naturally patinated, it has a unique appearance, half-reflectance and texture.
Particularly striking, is the magnificence resulting from when a glass ceramic sheet is back-lit.
Ecologically, the glass ceramic material is absolutely in trend. Glass ceramic is produced to nearly 100% out of waste materials
from industrial float glass production plants, as well as bottle glass production plants. This environmentally-friendly circle
is completed when glass ceramic itself is discarded, as it can be broken down completely by glass processors and used to
create new products. Hereby, glass ceramics participates in protecting our natural resources, as well as upholding the balance
of sustainability in construction and design projects.
MAGNA Glaskeramik is certified as made in Germany, in our factory in Teutschenthal. Our innovative technological know-how,
in combination with our comprehensive quality control management, is the basis of our promise to consistently deliver the
highest quality to our customers.
Two brand names are used in the application of our glass ceramic products: structuran® and decoran®.
decoran® - the element of glass ceramic design
Glass ceramic is a fascinating material for interior designers. The decoran® spectrum of application is vast, and ranges from
kitchen and counter tops, to wash-room surfaces, shower walls and elegant lighting strips.
structuran® - the element of glass ceramic façade
structuran® can be applied in sheets up to 2800 x 1250 mm, and can be used to cover exterior, as well as indoor façade.
Cladding, as rainscreen and soon as curtain wall. MAGNA Glaskeramik offers an array of technical supports, including different
fixing techniques and structural calculations consultants, as well as many construction project solutions, such as laminated
safety to glass and insulatied glazing.

Decoran® glass ceramic - design element
Due to its production characteristics and its brilliant aesthetic optics, decoran® opens
up an entire new catalog of options and variations for both designers and interior ar-
chitects. decoran® has the ability to be manipulated in many forms: flat, bowed or cur-
ved, to create elegant designs. The interaction between the surface, optic, and structure
of this material serves to stimulate one’s senses. Its combination with other materials,
such as wood, steel, natural stones, and cement is truly impeccable and promises in-
spiring and impressive effects.

Sustainability
The ecological commitment when planning a building project is more significant than
ever before. A foresighted disposal plan is an important contribution towards the pro-
tection of natural resources and rational use of waste disposal sites.
structuran® provides long-term, structural products which can be completely and op-
timally recycled. Glass ceramic is made from almost 100 % recycled glass, and after
use it can be completely recycled again without generation loss.
An invaluable factor, particularly with regard to the demolition of buildings and fulfilment
of prospective future requirements and stipulations.

Reference projects structuran®
MAGNA Glaskeramik and its competent partners in the glass industry,
offer additional solutions for integrating complex façade plans, such as
lamination, which opens up options for the development of insulating
glass, as well as laminated safety glass, which holds together upon at-
tempted shattering.
Our tight-knit collaboration with MAGNA Natural Stones allows for
seamless operations in coordinating our customers’ wishes.
The well-known German fixing specialist Fischer AG, has successfully
developed the undercut anchor FZP_15x15,5 M8/16 G-Z especially
for structuran® glass ceramic façades. These can be fitted into the
back of every façade panel, according to the required statics in the
Teutschenthal-located factory.
Structural glazing of façade panels is also suited to mount structuran®
on interior walls.

The interaction of colors and surface
In order to achieve structuran®’s specialized effects, the company Magna Glaskeramik
GmbH has coined a unique process, referred to as the sintering process, in which glass
is broken into pieces and subsequently melted back together again. The glass ceramic
product consists of almost 100 % pure glass. During the cooling process, a partly cry-
stalline structure occurs, which gives the glass its stunning appearance. Both the polis-
hed surface and the hammered finish give the material its authenticity and brilliant effects.
Glass ceramic can be processed with either glass-processing machines, or with stone
processing machines. We would be thrilled to take this opportunity to share our
knowledge and experience with you to further your customer’s individualized ideal results.
20. Naturstein GmbH
The parent company MAGNA Naturstein GmbH is one of the biggest distributors and fabricators for natural stones

sociates in both indoor and outdoor service, on a surface area of over 100,000 square meters, 45,000 of which
is indoor floor space. We demand and guarantee the highest quality standards for the workmanship of our natural
stone, glass ceramic, quartz composite and large ceramic wares.
MAGNA Naturstein promises its customers more than natural stones from the clay slab and base plate; we also se-
cure the finest finish. We lay particular focus on the technological handling of quartz from COMPAC, as well as the
