This is one of a series of short videos Shomerei Hamashal is releasing to give you some idea of what we teach.
We encourage you to contact us at www.hamashal.org and we’ll try to answer your questions and provide you with the important information on how proper interpretation of the 1st 6 books of the bible leads to a correct understanding about human destiny.
In another video we said that a comprehensive interpretation of the books of Moses and Joshua – that’s Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy and Joshua – is essential before interpreting anything else in the bible.
In this video we’ll show you an example of why that is so important.
We’ll discover that human destiny is to be clothed in a light garment.
This destiny was fixed in the garden of Eden and the process towards the destiny begins in an unexpected way.
In this video we’ll use an interlinear translation from Hebrew to English.
I recommend you view the video on interlinear translation and interpretation of the bible before you view this one.
In our video on the proper method for interpretation of the bible we made this statement.
In this presentation we will see how important this principle is.
First, I want to present to you a popular ideology about Adam and Eve and the garden of Eden.
It’s like the example we used in the interpretation of the bible video about the automobile tires.
If you didn’t know anything about the rest of the car you could say that it seems like the purpose of the tires is to lift the car off the ground.
This is like humans trying to tell God’s story.
A comprehensive interpretation lets God tell His story the way He intended it to be told.
In Genesis chapter 2 it says Yahweh Elohim make Adam and out of him comes his woman.
In Genesis chapter 3 the woman eats from a tree’s fruit and gives to her husband Adam and he eats too.
They were told that if they ate from the tree they would die.
They are given ‘tunics’ that some have interpreted as animal hides to cover themselves.
Since the kind of animal is never stated, we could imagine almost any kind of animal might have been used.
This is said to explain why Adam and his woman’s sentence of death is delayed.
Adam and his woman deserved death but instead the animal’s death was a substitute for their death.
Many years later the sons of Israel make and Moses sets up a tabernacle under the direction of Moses at the base of Mount Sinai.
They make animal offerings where they place their hand on the head of the animal and it is slaughtered near an altar.
The ideology says that the animal is slaughtered instead of the human offering the animal.
Like Adam and his woman, humans deserve to die because of their sins.
The animal dies instead and his blood is necessarily poured out at the death of his body.

They make animal offerings where they place their hand on the head of the animal and it is slaughtered near an altar
The ideology says that the animal is slaughtered instead of the human offering the animal
Like Adam and his woman, humans deserve to die because of their sins
The animal dies instead and his blood is necessarily poured out at the death of his body
[Click] For Christians, this popular theology has its conclusion in the life of Jesus Christ
He substitutes himself for the animal and dies once for all
The Hebrew problem of the need for continual animal sacrifices is solved once and for all by his death
[Click] This popular theology is obtained by interpreting the bible backwards
This method of interpretation is from the New Testament and fixes an interpretation for the Old Testament
[Click] When we apply a comprehensive interpretation to the 1st 6 books of the bible we find that this interpretation of Genesis and Leviticus doesn’t fit
It never says in Genesis that an animal was sacrificed to provide a covering for Adam and his woman
[Click] This interpretation infers that an animal was sacrificed and is completely unsupported
The most glaring error is the idea that holy animals were sacrificed as a substitute for human death
This is contrary to the teachings of the Hebrew Pentateuch authorities on the meaning of sacrifice
Hebraist Jacob Milgrom is widely regarded as one of the greatest interpreters of Leviticus of the 20th century
He shows that these offerings were never offered for the offerer but instead were offered on behalf of the offerer
The offering was made for the camp as a collective responsibility and never as a substitute for the offerer’s death
[Click] This idea that the animal’s death is a substitute for human death is utterly false
Inevitably these false interpretations of Adam and his woman in the garden of Eden and the meaning of sacrifice must lead to a false interpretation of the life of Jesus Christ
It can’t be otherwise
This illustration is taken from actual teaching to our students at Shomerei Hamashal
In Genesis chapter 1 verse 3 Elohim extract light from darkness
[Click] The Hebrew word for ‘light’ is pronounced ōr
[Click] In Genesis chapter 3 verse 21 Adam and his woman are given tunics of skin
The Hebrew word for skin is what linguists call a ‘homophone’
It sounds the same as the Hebrew word for ‘light’
Both are pronounced ōr ‘light’ or ōr ‘skin’
Elohim use a Hebrew causative form to describe how they are law-vashed ‘clothed’ or ‘garmented’
Adam and his woman are given a garment of light
[Click] Interpreters of the 1st 6 books of the bible can see the many parallels between the garden of Eden and the tabernacle
They see many similarities between the things the priests and Levites do in the tabernacle and what Adam did in the garden
[Click] The tunic they wear is made of linen from the flax plant
The Hebrew word for ‘tunic’ worn by the priests at Mount Sinai is the same as the ‘tunics’ worn by Adam and his woman
[Click] Dr. Otto Heinrich Warburg won the Nobel Prize in physiology in 1931
He measured the atomic signature frequency of a human at between 70 to 90
In comparison, linen fabrics had a frequency of 5,000
In interpretation the linen parts of the tabernacle correlate to light
On humans, linen has been shown to by highly energized and is known to heal a human body
This is the interlinear translation of Psalm chapter 104 verses 1 and 2
It is clear that humans’ destiny is to be clothed in a garment of light
The same Hebrew word law-vash is used for ‘garment’ that was used for the Hebrew ōr garment Adam and his woman wore
And the Hebrew word sal-maw that is used in Exodus to describe night clothing worn by someone when they sleep
This is the garment of light that adorns the lights in the heavens
[Click] And this explains Daniel’s prophecy in chapter 12 verse 3 that those who know God will shine like the brightness of the heavens and the stars
So the story of Adam and his woman is quite different when we understand it as part of a comprehensive interpretation of the 1st 6 books of the bible
A sovereign God surely knows everything that has happened, that is happening and that will happen
Adam and his woman were naked but they did not know it
Their nakedness is wrapped in what will be a light garment that will cause humans to shine like the stars
The tunics of skin were the early 1st beginnings of a process that will lead to the beautiful and majestic forms that are planned for us
We hope this short video will help you understand Shomerei Hamashal’s beliefs on the origin of the cosmos and the purpose of humans
