Many people might can't understand this well because it's not really a slide, but a storyboard. But, it surely helps in knowing more about nomophobia! Do read and hope you'll learn something beneficial from it.
5. *Teha, Shaa, Nora and Adilah
*1: Assalamualaikum and hi everyone! You guys
are watching, “What’s up with our
teenagers?” My name is … and for today, me
and (2) have our bestfriend with us!
*2: I am (2)
*3: Im (3)
*1: and that camerawoman over there (shake
camera) Claudia Christine …
6. *
2: So yeah, for today session, we will explain
about NOMOPHOBIA!
4: What-on-earth was that? (bewildered)
3: Owh I know!! I know! Its an acronym for ..
NO-MOBILE-PHONE-PHOBIA, am I right?
2: Clever girl (3), yes. This is a scientific name
of a feeling of fear of being away from your
phone or not having internet connection.
7. 4. Oh my Allah, talking about that, it reminds me of our
friend, Hasmiera! Remember, before? She was also a
person who faced no.. Nomo..?
2: Nomophobia laa (4)
4. Haa, yes yes!
3: Owh owh! Remember that time, when we went for a
dinner together, and all she did was playing with her
smartphone?
4: Yes, and even worst! When we asked her about our
group assignment, she COMPLETELY ignored us! Sobs
(T_T)
8. 1: Hey hey .. I understand your feelings, my dear. But
the audience surely could not guess, right?
2: daa, we have audience.. Behave behave (whispering)
4: Ooops okay..
2: So, to make the audience get the grasp of the
nomophobia issue faced by our friend, Hasmierah, we
had this video prepared.
1: Yes, but this is ‘takde kaitan dengan yg hidup dan yg
mati’, okay. Just learn something from it. Let’s watch!
(petik jari or anything)
The others nodded.
9. *
Dinner time (when she take picture of the foods)
When her friend ask her about their group task, and she ignored
them
When she took pictures and Teha said, “tinggal je lah dia”
When she was playing with her phone when her friends were
dicussing
When she was left behind because she was too busy scrolling
while walking
10. *
4: Ish ish ish .. Cannot cannot.. I mean, if we are too
busy with our smartphone, we tend to neglect people
around us, people we loved. And it surely does not
WORTH IT.
3: Yes, I also think that, people who focused too
much on their smartphone, will be less productive,
because they will waste too much of their precious
time continually glued to a small, glowing LED screen
11. 2: Yes. Upon realizing that this situation
would be getting worsen, we should come
out with SOLUTIONS. Mind to share one,
(1)
1: My pleasure. 1ST,
“Delete all the social media apps on your
phone”
[selangi dengan tulisan shj ‘1st solution’]
12.
13. 4: Owh no.. Don’t you think that’s too much!
1: This surely sounds like a drastic measure, a’aa, it isn’t. You’ll still
be able to access social media sites through your phone’s Internet
Browser, remember? For whatsapp, that’s a special case. Just
delete Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and so on. This is how it goes..
(simulation)
1st step : Delete Facebook, Twitter, Instagram
2nd step: If suddenly you need these sites for any important
purposes, you can simply visit the sites from your phone’s Internet
Browser.
14. 2: From my opinion, the rationale of doing so is
to lessen our tendency of visiting social media
sites too much. If its too easy, which is just one
click, it would be harder for us to throw away
our addiction towards smartphones.
1. Yes, exactly (2)
3: Nice idea (1). As for me, what I used to do is
installing apps which could track and restrict
our smartphone usage.
15.
16. 4: Wow , that would be something new to me.
2: Me too, interesting isn’t it?
3: Yes, indeed.
The apps that I always use is,
RescueTime, which is suitable for Android User
like me. This app will help me understand my
phone usage patterns, so you’ll know how to
become more productive! It gives you a detailed
breakdown of how much time you spend using
different categories of apps.
17. [Simulation]
-Show the app and how it works
4: Cool man! Eh, woman..
3: Haha, I know right? Try it.
4: I also have one suggestion. It was based on a
research made towards human psychology system,
which analyze our anxiety every time we stay away from
our smartphone.
1: Huermm, nice!
4: So, the tips is “Calm Yourself”
18.
19. 4. It might sound simple, but it is proven to be very
effective.
[while she talks, we can play the video at the same time,
so less time would be taken]
When we study or doing something important, we tend
to have thoughts like, "is there anyone texting me?",
"there could be emergencies", "owh i need to make a
phone call". But if we give in to the urge, before we
know it, 20 minutes or probably an hour would have
passed!
… And suprisingly, what we did was only scrolling our fb
..
20. According to a psychologist, the urge to check phone comes in
waves. If you hold out for just a few seconds, the urge will pass, in
shaa Allah.
So, All we need is to resist the temptation and calm ourself. Close
your eyes and take a deep breath. Inhale for 3 seconds, and you’ll e
surprised to realize that the urge has disappeared. And for
Muslims, do say “astaghfirullahal’azim..”
2: But, what if we still have that urge even after we do that?
[Back to studio]
4: Easy, all you have to do is repeat the actions again, again and
again. But seriously, you should then have the willpower to return to
your original task.
21. *
2: Woah, nice idea everyone. It seems that this session has become so informative. And,
I personally think that our friend, Hasmierah and everyone who faced nomophobia
should practiced these tips, right?
3: But, Im glad that Hasmierah finally realized her mistake after she lost her phone.
Having no one to talk with, feeling of lost in her reality life makes her realized that she
missed a lot. 1: She realized that she should not neglect us, her friends or her loved
ones, just because of smartphone.
4: That’s why la she change already. When she finally found her smartphone back, she
learnt her lesson and even until now, she never misused her smartphone anymore.
Hasmierah .. Hasmierah ..
[Hasmierah entered the studio, without realizing that it was on air. She heard her name
was being mentioned.]
Hasmierah: Amboi.. Amboi, aku dengar org sebut nama aku.. Ngumpat ehhh?
22. 1: Eh no laa, actually we are on air (pointing at the camera), discussing
about nomophobia. But as we were about to end our session, you can just
watch this video later, in the EduTech Innovation Day, to know more about
nomophobia.
Hasmierah : Owh, kene speaking eh? Eh .. Eh .. Im sorry. But, I also
know what is nomophobia. I was also like that before. Sobs =(
2: Hey, people changed, am I right? The most important thing is you learnt
your lesson.
4: It seems that losing your smartphone brings a big hikmah for you, right?
*Hasmierah nodded.
2: So, thank you to Adilah and Nora for joining us today. Owh , and
Hasmierah as well. Before that, we would like to conclude this session with
a quote..
23.
24.
25. *Adilah stole Hasmierah’s smartphone.
*Hasmierah being abandoned
*She learnt her lesson
*They return the smartphone
*She has become a better person..
[better we only use background or sound effects
instead of conversations, to show more variety and save
time as well, and remember to use close-up shots]
26.
27. *
1. Turn off noti
2. When you feel the urge to check your phone, close your eyes and take a
deep breath
3. Delete all the social media apps on your phone
4. Delete all the apps you did not use
5. Set specific boundaries for smartphone usage
6. Mute your group chats – except family
7. Archive your inactive chats
8. Reply to text messages just three times a day
9. Turn off your phone before going to bed
10. Use an actual alarm clock
11. Put your phone away from you
12. Use an app to track and restrict your smartphone usage
13. Tell others and enlist their help
14. Lock with a very long password, so we wont use it mindlessly
28. *
Advantages Disadvantages
- Very informative (Ive learn
something while doing this)
- Use English Language
- Manglish (Malaysian English)
- Proper flow (I hope so)
- Educational
- Could also use the previous
shots that we had taken
- Too long conversations, not
making it humorous will make it
unattractive
Solution: We can use words
sometimes, pictures, videos,
instead of just our conversation
video
- From my humble perspective, I
cant find anything else, so if you
find any errors, do correct me ..
29. *
Dear teammates, suddenly I got this idea and I cant sleep unless I
finish this manuscript (or anything you call it)
I came up with 3 solutions which I think the best, so that we could
save much time acting it out. But there are other options stated in
case you want to take a look (SOLUTIONS)
I decided to do this because I realized that I have other
commitment, and I’m afraid I can’t help much later on. But, in shaa
Allah no pressure. You can read thoroughly, and voice out your
opinions. This slide was meant to be a suggestion from me only.
Disagreement is humbly accepted.
Any questions can ask me, in group or we can meet up anytime, when
everyone of us are available. Sekian, wassalam.
