2. INTRODUCTION TO UNION
BUDGET :
According to Article 112 of the Indian Constitution, the Union
Budget of a year, also referred to as the annual financial
statement, is a statement of the estimated receipts and
expenditure of the government for that particular year.
Union Budget keeps the account of the government's finances
for the fiscal year that runs from 1st April to 31st March.
Union Budget is classified into Revenue Budget and Capital
Budget.

3. FACILITIES FOR FARMERS:
Finance Minister Arun Jaitley presented the Union Budget
2016-17 on Monday. Jaitley announced a slew of measures for
the farm sector which was under stress because of drought.
Here’s what Jaitley announced for farmers in his budget.
28.5 lakh hectares will be brought under irrigation under the
Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana.
At least 5 lakh farm ponds and dug wells in rain fed areas
and 10 lakh compost pits for production of organic manure
will be taken up.
