The Serre Numérique is a new centre of digital creativity: video games, animation, design, serious game… The Serre Numérique is an exceptional 17,000 m² building developed by the CCI Grand Hainaut in Valenciennes (France). Exclusively dedicated to video and digital creation activities, it brings together in a single building: • higher education (the Rubika group and its 3 internationally renowned schools: ISD Rubika, Supinfocom Rubika and Supinfogame Rubika) • businesses (a 3,000 m² business area: start-up incubator, business accelerator...) • research (video games, serious game, design laboratories...) • advanced equipment (immersive virtual reality space - 4-sided cave, motion capture, 3D lecture theater, learning center, co-working...) and approuved since 2008 as the Regional Digital Creation Cluster Pictanovo, of which it is one
of the founding members.
Promoted by the CCI Grand Hainaut as from the end of the 1980s, this ambition has been
strengthened over the years by :
• The successive creation of the three schools of the Rubika group (Supinfocom, Supinfogame and ISD)
• The construction of a building dedicated to ICT companies (les Ateliers Numériques - "Digital Workshops")
• The setting up of a play research laboratory (the Play Research Lab)
• Support for serious game development(international "e.Virtuoses" festival, numerous calls for projects)
