12. Our People
Jim Flickinger | Owner-Agency Administrator
“ After attending Wheaton Graduate School I spent 24+ years
here locally as a Marketing/Sales Executive for a specialty
engineering firm. A softening economy started my search for an
opportunity to run a small business. When Judy and I heard about
BrightStar, we decided it was a perfect opportunity to help families,
create jobs, and establish a business in this growing industry right
here in our hometown area of Dupage-Wheaton.
”
13. Judy Flickinger RN | Director of Nursing
Director of Nursing Judy Flickinger, RN has over 30 years nursing
experience in hospital and medical office settings.
Judy has a strong background in pediatrics health care. She
provides case management skills for the various Home Nursing
clients our agency serves.
This includes performing initial and ongoing needs assessments,
developing care plans and case supervision. She also provides
clinical direction for the agency and oversees our caregiving staff
hiring process.
14. Phebe Johnson RN | Staff Registered Nurse
“ After attending Wheaton College and graduating from Indiana
State University, I worked as an RN for 38 years in hospital,
college, and home care settings in the areas of med/surg,
epidemiology, and hospice.
My passion is caring for and helping people by meeting their
physical, emotional and spiritual needs. BrightStar’s commitment
to their clients, coupled with their innovative and creative business
ideas, makes BrightStar a wonderful fit for me.
”
15. Sonia Del Campo | Office Administrator
“ I joined the Dupage-Wheaton office of BrightStar to connect
with clients and our people who serve them- our great Caregiving
staff. My role is to work with our Care Managers to match the
skills, personalities and availability of our field staff with the needs
of each client. Job #1 is to be sure that each of our staff members
knows where they need to be and when to be there. In the
healthcare business, our clients’ needs change with every passing
hour and I help meet those needs by sending our field care team
to them.
”
16. Susan Wolski MSW | Care Manager
“ Over the years of my career, I have worked as a geriatric care
manager, State of Illinois elder abuse investigator, and meals-on-
wheels coordinator. I am also certified by the Alzheimer’s
Association as a dementia care manager.
As a geriatric social worker, I feel my strengths are in a broad
knowledge of older adult life-span issues, which I apply to client
focused assessment, care planning, client/family and staff
education, and use of appropriate durable medical equipment.
I believe in BrightStar’s mission to Make More Possible, and am an
advocate for keeping older adults safe and happy in their own
homes.
”
17. Megan Schaaf MSW | Care Manager
“ I have a Bachelor’s of Arts in social work from Carthage
College in Kenosha, WI and a Master’s from Dominican University
in River Forest, IL. Additionally, I am a Licensed Social Worker in
the State of Illinois.
My experience is in geriatric social work, specifically working with
the Alzheimer’s population. I have previous experience working
with Continuous Care Retirement Communities, Meals on Wheels
and Aging and Disability Resource Center. Working at BrightStar
allows me to do what I’m passionate about: Making More Possible
for the seniors in our community.
”
18. Leonard Sanchez MBA | Sales Manager
“ My personal experience of caring for my father with Dementia
and my special son with Autism inspired me to consider a
transition from a successful 20+ years as a marketing executive
within the high-tech/telecommunications industry to join
BrightStar.
My mission to expand our impact and thought leadership on the
community has resulted in a positive experience for our elderly
and children with special needs.
My Northwestern Kellogg MBA in marketing/International Business
and management experience has also been a wonderful asset in
establishing our reputation as a quality and responsive provider of
care throughout DuPage county and nationwide.
”
19. Stephanie Tournear | Office-Staffing Coordinator
“ I started working with BrightStar in early 2011 after living
abroad for several years. I really appreciate the work we do to
help so many and the challenge posed by our mission to “Make
More Possible”.
BrightStar has given me the opportunity to work in a dynamic
atmosphere with some truly special caregivers. I have a Bachelor’s
degree in Political Science and International Studies from Illinois
State University and a Master’s degree in Middle East Studies from
the American University of Beirut.
