Designed and developed a minimally invasive osteoporotic
pedicle screw (patent pending) equipped with a stent fixture
using SolidWorks to improve the pull-out strength of the
screw-bone interface.
Accelerated the design of NITINOL based stent; working with
a medical manufacturing contractor npxmed which made the
device 30% lighter than existing screws in the market and
10% more pull-out strength through the ASTM F1717 standard
Adopted 21 CFR Part 820 Quality Management System (QMS)
documentation as part of the FDA Design Control guideline
to ensure safe and effective product

Fundamental of Gut for
Capsule EngineersCo-authored a journal paper titled
“Fundamental of Gut for Capsule
Engineers” during my work at Terry
Research Laboratory. This paper focuses
on to provide engineers a comprehensive
reference manual of the GI environment
and its complex physical, biological, and
chemical characteristics so they can
more quickly understand the constraints
and challenges associated with
developing devices for the GI space.
Designed an implantable therapeutic capsule prototype using
Autodesk Inventor and 3D printer that travels to the human
intestine to sustainably deliver drugs, replacing traditional
injections such as insulin shots
Applied lean methodologies to identify product assembly
requirements and implemented Design for Manufacturing
(DFM) bottom-up approach to reduce the cost of the device
by 37.5%, therefore allowing the device to be mass
producible.
Optimized the attachment mechanism of the capsule design
by using partial factorial analysis tool R-Studio to improve the
latching strength of the implantable member by 17% and to
ensure the capsule remained attached for several days
through in vivo studies.

Oversaw Stratasys Objet 500 Connex3 3D Printer and
provided training and assistance to new users, including
handling inventory management and driving data
management improvements.
Analyzed equipment data, conducted experimental
tests, and reduced printing time 30% with no loss to
overall quality outcomes. Sought as an internal advisor
to deliver achievements to similar organizations.
Investigated customer complaints and recommended
design improvements that elevated efficiency and
greatly reduced overall ticket volumes.
Developed SOPs, processes, and other KPI
improvements to cut costs by 1.5% annually.
Collaborated with the ideation team in validating a vibrating
wound debridement device concepts from surgeons through
scientific literature research, current solutions in the market,
existing patents, intellectual property and customer
requirements.
Created a new ventilator idea using an anti-microbial lighting
array; calculated the power and number of lights required to
eliminate 80% of bacteria through an endotracheal tube by
using a simple nebulizer and air chamber experiment.

Electric Toothbrush
A common complaint with power toothbrushes is their battery
life. One of the most common requests from Ranir’s retailers is
to improve the battery life of their handles. This is mainly taken
in consideration when designing new handles and hasn’t been
looked at for existing products.
The Total Power II is a common replaceable battery power
toothbrush from Ranir that is sold at many retailers. We will
develop a model in Simulink that represents this Power
Toothbrush handle. Then we will validate that model through
testing existing product. Once we have confirmed that our
model is accurate, we will begin adding and changing
components to try to improve the battery life of the handle. The
battery life will be defined as the amount of time it takes for the
brush head speed to go below 8000 SPM.

A colonoscopy device is designed to remove polyps and collect
issue samples from lesions or areas of the mucosa that differ from
their surroundings. However, despite its efficacy and widespread
use, up to 40% of existing colonic adenomas remain undetected
during a screening colonoscopy
The current diagnosis procedure, which is mostly image-
guided, can be enhanced by introducing a targeted visual 3D
mapping system. This technology can be used to create surface
topology by detecting changes in the tissue structure. Additionally,
camera-3D mapping hybrid devices can provide more insight
about colonic tissue and help provide better diagnosis

Collagenous Soft Tissue
Mechanical behavior testing and properties characterization of
a collagenous soft tissue was done to better understand the
interaction with an implantable medical device.
Biaxial -mechanical testing was done using CellScale Biotester
where marks where placed to determine the deformation
gradients along with mechanical behavior information of the
tissue using Cauchy Stress and Green Strain along two loading
directions.
Later, the experimental data was modelled using a hyper elastic
constitute relation using Fung’s exponential model as a specific
form of the strain energy function. The Optimization of the
parameters was done using MATLAB.

sensor and sawblade, that ramble

GPS module, a compass and an ultrasonic
sensor- powered by an Arduino board.
It connects to the user’s Smartphone via

Numerical Study of Jet
My thesis was titled Study of Turbulent Flow Characteristics in the Near
Field of Co-axial Jets. I conducted my study both experimentally and
numerically) under Bio-Fluid Laboratory. To solve the turbulent nature of
the fluid flow, I used the Reynolds Average Navier Stokes (RANS)
equation. I solved the RANS equation numerically using the Finite
Volume Method (FVM) in COMSOL. In the near field, I evaluated the main
jet flow parameters such as the evolution of turbulence structure at a
defined scale.
Published two conference papers:
• Numerical study of turbulent round free jet
• Numerical simulation of turbulent mixed convective pipe flow
During my time as a Research Assistant for
Multiscale Mechanical Modeling Research Network
(MMMRN), a group founded in 2014 as a
collaborative research platform which engages
industry professionals, university alumni, and current
faculties to train and guide undergraduate students
for the advanced research opportunities of present
days, I also engaged in some teaching activities
beyond the conventional methods everyone was
used to. As part of it, I created a series of video
tutorials on COMSOL to assist young researchers

Grid Solving Robot
A self-driven vehicle capable of localizing itself in a grid
and planning a path between two nodes through the
scanning of IR sensors.
It can avoid nodes and plan path between two allowed
nodes. Flood Fill Algorithm was used for finding the path
between two allowed nodes.
Arduino, motor driver and motors were used to feed the
information about the blocks and roadmap to traverse the
robot from point A to point B n the shortest possible path
avoiding obstacles.

This is mainly taken in consideration when designing new handles and hasn’t been looked at for existing products. The Total Power II is a common replaceable battery power toothbrush from Ranir that is sold at many retailers. We will develop a model in Simulink that represents this Power Toothbrush handle. Then we will validate that model through testing existing product. Once we have confirmed that our model is accurate, we will begin adding and changing components to try to improve the battery life of the handle. The battery life will be defined as the amount of time it takes for the brush head speed to go below 8000 SPM.

Collagenous Soft Tissue Mechanical behavior testing and properties characterization of a collagenous soft tissue was done to better understand the interaction with an implantable medical device. Biaxial -mechanical testing was done using CellScale Biotester where marks where placed to determine the deformation gradients along with mechanical behavior information of the tissue using Cauchy Stress and Green Strain along two loading directions. Later, the experimental data was modelled using a hyper elastic constitute relation using Fung’s exponential model as a specific form of the strain energy function. The Optimization of the parameters was done using MATLAB.

  • 15. Numerical Study of Jet My thesis was titled Study of Turbulent Flow Characteristics in the Near Field of Co-axial Jets. I conducted my study both experimentally and numerically) under Bio-Fluid Laboratory. To solve the turbulent nature of the fluid flow, I used the Reynolds Average Navier Stokes (RANS) equation. I solved the RANS equation numerically using the Finite Volume Method (FVM) in COMSOL. In the near field, I evaluated the main jet flow parameters such as the evolution of turbulence structure at a defined scale. Arduino, motor driver and motors were used to feed the information about the blocks and roadmap to traverse the robot from point A to point B n the shortest possible path avoiding obstacles.
